The Girl From the Car

"She's not completely lost herself Li" Zayn tried to assure Liam

"She doesn't know who any of us are" he muttered bitterly

"But she is still friendly and caring, and you can introduce yourself. She called you cute too" Zayn smirked as Liam's head shot up

"She did?" Liam asked with a mix of shock and hopefulness

"Yeah she did" Zayn laughed

"You better not be messing with me Zayn" Liam said seriously

"I'm not messing with you Li" Zayn chuckled "You can ask the other guys"

"Should I go talk to her?" Liam asked nervously

"Sooner or later, yes. But I want you to talk to the kids, the older ones, especially Cecilia"

"You're right" he sighed "You're right. I've been trying to hold it off the best I can"

"I think it's time, the littler kids probably won't understand but Cecilia needs to know"

"Yeah I know" Liam sighed taking a moment before standing up and grabbing his phone and keys.

"Are you going to pick them up?" Zayn asked as Liam walked to get his jacket

"No I think I'm going to kill two birds with one stone and tell my parents at the same time"

"That's good, so you don't have to say it twice" Zayn gave him a sympathetic smile patting his back as Liam stuffed his phone in his pocket

"I'll probably call you" Liam said quietly, turning to face Zayn

"I'll probably answer" he gave him a cheeky smile "But be careful and don't get too worked up ok?"

"I won't don't worry" Liam gave him a weak smile

"I love you Li, ok? Be a dad but also be a husband" Zayn gave him a tight hug before letting him go. Liam went to his car getting ready for the long ride ahead.

As he was driving on the high way he saw cars on the other side of the road just passing and he thought about what would happen if they were to crash. What would happen if he were to crash? Again. On the way to his kids, not being able to be with them, basically leaving them as orphans.

Sophie and he rewrote their wills every time they had a kids. After Tyler was born was the last time they were updated. They wanted all the kids to stay together so they were going to his parents, but it also said if anything were to happen to them that Zayn and Perrie got Ross and Fae while Niall and Demi got Tyler and Louis and Harry got Cecilia. They never thought that they would actually have to go to that, but everyone agreed to it.

I guess stuff happens for a reason.

This reason was stupid though.

Sophie didn't deserve any of this, she's been nothing but a good mom and wife. And then this happens and she is back to square one.

Liam couldn't think about it anymore though because he was pulling up to his parent's house. He turned the car off and looked over and saw his kids running in the lawn over to him. He smiled sadly getting out of the car and walking over and opening his arms for them to run into.

"Daddy! Daddy! I missed you! Grandma said that you needed a little break and you wouldn't be back until Sunday" Fae said pouting

"Well I missed you guys too much so I decided to come see how you guys are doing" Liam said ruffling Ross' hair and tucking a piece of Fae's behind her ear.

"Liam?" someone asked and he looked up seeing his mom looking at him questionable

"Hey mama, I have some stuff to tell you guys"

"Cecilia! Your dad is here" Karen yelled upstairs then turned to Liam "She's locked herself up in your old room and only has come down for meals"

"Aw my princess" Liam frowned hearing the door to his old room squeak open and footsteps walk down the hallway to the stairs. When Cecilia and Liam made eye contact she saw right through him and her whole demeanor just dropped.

"Let's go get some tea, and sit down" Karen said taking the little kids into the other room while Liam waited for Cecilia to walk past him and into the kitchen. He followed behind her seeing Ruth, Nicola, and Geoff sitting with tea waiting.

"What are we British?" Cecilia scoffed sadly

"Well we are" Ruth chuckled trying to lighten the mood

"So what did you need to tell us?" Karen asked walking into the kitchen.

"Um so Sophie woke up from her coma" he said trying to be a bit happier

"Oh! That's great" Karen smiled

"Um yeah, but um she woke and-" he stuttered looking up and making eye contact with Cecilia "She has the amnesia the doctors predicted"

"Oh no" Cecilia covered her mouth as she heard the news

"Um I'll go check on the kids" Ruth said blank faced biting her lip as she left the kitchen

"What-" Cecilia stopped and took a breath "What does she remember?"

"Um she remembers from age sixteen and younger" he said slowly looking back down at his hands

"No, no, no, no" Cecilia started crying, she pushed her chair back quickly running out of the room

"Cecilia!" Liam yelled going to go after her but Karen grabbed his arm giving him the mom look

"Let her cool off darling"

"But someone needs to be there for her" he fought back but wasn't harsh

"She needs a moment by herself, that's why she ran out. When she needs someone to be there, she'll ask for it and you'll be there"

"You're right, you're right" he sighed nodding and sitting down taking the tea that Karen slid over into his hands.

"Do they know when her memory will return?" Nicola asked gently

"No" he shook his head "They said it's really hard to tell, she might not even get it back"

"Aw darling" Karen frowned reaching over and rubbing his arm

"Don't worry about me mom, we should be worrying about Cecilia and the other kids"

"I am don't worry, but don't forget about yourself" she said standing up and rubbing his arm before leaving the room to go check on Tyler who was asleep in Ruth's old room in his crib.

"It'll all work out don't worry" Geoff gave him a sympathetic smile leaving the room with Nicola right behind him. Liam sat at the kitchen table moving his mug around watching the liquid splash around the sides.

"Dad" Liam's head shot up as he heard Cecilia's broken voice

"Hey princess" he gave her a sad smile

"I want to go see her"
