Tam's been having it really rough. It's been about three days since the group in the Lost Cities told him and Y/n that Linh went missing and there's still been no updates. He's struggling. Everyone is worried about him, even Gage who isn't even that close to the elves. Lesa has been trying everything to get his mood up, but nothing her or Y/n does is helping. Tam and Y/n are sitting on their bed right now to give Terik the weekly update.
"Tam, I heard about Linh. How are you fairing?" Terik asks the moment he picks up.
"Not great. I don't know why they would take her and I'm worried about what they're doing to her. Y/n and I were drugged and tortured for months with them. Same as Sophie and Dex. I don't know how long she'll last," Tam admits.
"Any news on your end?" Terik asks.
"There's another elf at Blue Valley. Her name is Amra. She's a Shade and is familiar. I just can't put my finger on it. Could you do some research in the records to figure out some more about her? If you can, that'd be great," Y/n responds. Terik nods.
"I'm sorry about Linh. If you need anything, I'd be happy to help. Just let me know," he states before clicking off.
"I still can't believe she's been taken. What if it's too late when we find her?" Tam asks Y/n.
"Hey. Let's not think about the 'what ifs.' Linh's going to be alright. They're probably using her as leverage. They wouldn't kill their bargaining chip. You have to believe she's going to be alright. We can't have you spiraling. I can't have you spiraling, Tam. She's gonna be fine. You just have to believe that," Y/n assures him.
"I can't stop assuming the worst, Y/n. It's like it's in my DNA to worry and assume the worst. I don't know what'll happen if I lose her. What if she's-"
"-No what ifs," Y/n cuts him off. "Stop assuming the worst, Tam. She's going to be fine. Especially if they're trying to get Fintan to torture her. He wouldn't do anything to hurt us. He feels too much guilt to do that. Trust me. She's going to be fine." Tam buries his head in his hands and Y/n wraps her arms around him to try to comfort him. She can feel the anxiety and worry rolling off of him in waves.
"Okay, you seriously have enough worry to make us both sick," she states, earning a light-hearted chuckle from Tam.
"I just need to know that Linh is okay. Somehow, someway, shape or form. I just need clarification."
"And I understand that, Tam. If our places were swapped and it were Keefe taken, I'd feel the same way. But I seriously think we're going to have to limit the touching, because that is intense." Tam chuckles a little at that and scoots away from her, trying to make it easier on her. He notices how she gets a little color back in her cheeks and her jaw relaxes a little. If that happened from a little bit of space in between them for her, how bad did he look?
"Be honest with me. How bad do I look right now? And no biased girlfriend thing either, saying that to you I always look good. Lay it on me straight."
"Oh, you don't look great, dude," Colby says from the door. Tam jumps a little, not having realized he was there.
"Might I ask when you got there?" he asks.
"About a minute ago. I wasn't eavesdropping on purpose. You guys were just having a moment and Mom wanted me to tell you two that lunch was ready, if you wanted it. She also told me to tell you, Tam, that you need to eat something. You look like you haven't eaten in weeks," Colby explains. The two elves nod and follow Colby to the dining room. Y/n glances at Tam and sighs. Linh being taken has been a major setback and she doesn't know how long it will take after Linh is back to get him back to normal. Don't get her wrong, she loves it with the Brocks. Everyone there is so kind. But she misses Keefe, Foxfire, and the rest of the gang. She hopes that Linh gets back soon. She doesn't like how easily their progress vanished. And she wants to restart as soon as possible.
"You alright, Y/n? You've been zoned out for a minute," Sam states.
"Just thinking. There's a lot going on back home, and I want to be there for them," she responds.
"But if we did go, we'd miss you guys," Tam adds. This causes the family to smile and Y/n smiles at Tam.
"We'd miss you guys, too," Lesa says. This causes Y/n and Tam to smile at Lesa and the others. Y/n starts eating, urging Tam to eat as well as she starts shadow whispering to him.
"Lesa's right, you know. You really do need to eat," she shadow whispers.
"I know," he replies, eating a little. Y/n sighs and wraps her arm around him, giving a side hug. He smiles a little, reciprocating the action and continuing to eat. Y/n continues to eat as well, stealing glances at Tam to make sure he's eating. Once lunch is finished, Y/n helps Lesa with dishes while Colby talks with Tam to get his mind off Linh.

A/N: Y'all, I'm sorry for not being active with this. I have writer's block and didn't write anything over the time I was grounded. I can't think of anything but feel bad for leaving this on hiatus.
