"Keefe," Cassius says as he opens the door.

"Dad," Keefe responds. Cassius's eyes lay on you.

"Y/n?" he asks.

"Pleasure to meet you. Tell me you're better than Mom," you plead.

"Yes. I believe I am," Cassius responds.

"I hate to say this, but he is," Keefe says.

"I thought you ran off to the Neverseen?" Cassius asks Keefe.

"I did. Then I learned I had a twin sister who has been tortured her whole life," Keefe responds.

"I don't trust you," you say suddenly, looking directly at Cassius.

"Why?" he asks.

"Too much potential for darkness," you respond. You enter Candleshade and Keefe follows you.

"Do you want to go somewhere else?" he asks. You nod, not feeling comfortable staying with your father.

"Hold on to something," Cassius says. You grab the railing.

"Two hundred!" Keefe calls. The stairs spin and you're up there in a few seconds. You nearly fall the moment you let go of the railing and Keefe catches you.

"Thanks," you mumble.

"Anytime," Keefe responds. "Havenfield!" he calls. The chandelier above your head, which Keefe told you is the Leapmaster 10,000, spins and a crystal lowers. A beam of light comes down and Keefe clamps something on your wrist.

"What's this?" you ask.

"A nexus. It keeps you together during a light-leap until your concentration is strong enough," Keefe responds. He grabs your hand and steps into the light. Warmth rushes over you and it feels like a million feathers passing over you. It's over way too soon in your opinion. A blond-haired girl comes over almost immediately.

"Hey, Keefe!" she calls, clearly excited. (A/N: In this, Sophie and Keefe are together. Team Foster-Keefe will always be better!)

"Hey, Sophie," he says as she hugs him. You raise an eyebrow and sense their love though the air.

"Enough with the lovey-dovey stuff," you mutter. Keefe laughs.

"You will get along almost too well with Bangs Boi," he says. You look confused. "Tam," he clarifies when he sees that you're confused.

"I'm Sophie," she introduces, going towards you for a handshake. You back up.

"I need a reading first. I already got one for Keefe," you clarify.

"What?!" someone asks behind you. You turn around to see a boy with silver bangs, black hair, silvery-blue eyes, and a shocked expression. "Why did he allow you to do that?"

"He didn't. Not technically. I did it in our escape from the Neverseen," you explain.

"What?!" Keefe asks, clearly angry.

"Oh, relax. I read and learned I can trust you. You have more illumination than I've ever seen," you assure him. Silver-Bangs gets a reading of Keefe, too, without his knowledge since he turned away to talk to Sophie. You read Sophie and decide she can be trusted, despite the fairly even split between illumination and darkness. Silver-Bangs decided he can trust Keefe, as well.

"What's your name?" you ask.

"Tam Song," Tam responds.

"Keefe told me about you. He said we'd get along," you say.

"What's your name?" Tam asks.

"Y/n Sencen," you reply. You each do a reading and decide you can trust each other.
