Liam.
Where exactly was he hiding? And why?
It's been years since we last saw him, he picked up our calls occasionally, brushed our questions off and never came to the family gatherings we would organize. Nobody really questioned it at that time, we thought he was as heartbroken as we were, but even then, something was telling me that was far from the truth.
"Who was the last person he talked to?"Kingston asked and glanced at me, he already knew the answer.
"Me. He talked to me. He was asking about the kids and how I was holding up."His jaw clenched, he scanned my entire face with an angry expression as if he looked for an answer to the question in his head.
"You huh?"He paused. I saw the colour of his face change and I swallowed hard.
"Yeah but-"
"I'll be back."He stormed past me and rushed up the stairs.
A groan escaped Nasius lips and I shot him a glare.
"Yo, bro, where are you-"
"I'm putting you in charge for now, make sure everything is ready by tonight, the rest of you—"He stopped and looked at them. "Get out of my house, I'll call when everything is settled."He disappeared out of our sights and I cleared my throat.
"Sorry. don't know what that was all about, I'll go check up on him and you all can prepare everything for tonight...sorry again."I gave them an awkward, sympathetic smile and rushed after him upstairs.
Of course I knew what it was all about, it was no secret Liam once liked me, him and Kingston were in a feud for a long time after he admitted he took an interest in me, but that was years ago, way long ago. I hoped we left it in the past, apparently I was very wrong.
"Kingston, where are you?"
"Bedroom."He answered with a flat voice.
I walked into our bedroom and closed the door behind me. He was sat on the bed, enjoying one of his bad habits from the past. Smoking.
"I thought you quit."
"I thought so too, turns out I didn't."He took a long hit and stood up.
"It's him, I know it is, he must be the one that sent you those flowers too, he is the one that framed me, he is the one that separated me from my own family."Anger rised in his voice after each word.
"Even if it is him, he won't get anything out of it, if his intention was to come here and play knight, he already lost, I wont go with him, I'm happy where I am right now, with you. Don't let him affect you even from a distance."I ran my hand down his chest, my fingers tapped against the buttons on his shirt.
"I know, but I don't like when people run after what's mine, even if I know they already lost the race."He ran his fingers down my cheek as his eyes gazed into mine.
"I love how easy it is for you to calm me down, how are you so good at it? A few minutes ago my heart was hammering inside my chest, now I can barely feel it."
"It had nothing to do with me, it's the nicotine setting in."He laughed and took another hit of it.
"Do you still smoke?"
"Of course I don't, Princess has asthma and the smell started making me sick, why?"
"Well–"He parted my lips with his thumb."I remember when we used to share cigarettes, I always thought you looked bossy while smoking, I loved it. Open your mouth."I listened and opened them. He took a long draw and leaned in, he blew the smoke in my mouth then sealed them with a kiss.
