Y/N slumped into the house , feeling utterly drained after a long and difficult day. Nothing seemed to have gone right, failing her chem exam to starting her period in the middle of gym it all left her feeling defeated and exhausted. She buried her face in her hands, trying to shake off the weight of disappointment that clung to her.

As she walked into the living room she was greeted my her mom and dad eagerly waiting to hear about how the very crucial test went down.

"How'd it go sweetheart?" Her mom asked sensing a negative aura from her daughter

As she handing her parents the test with a huge red D across of it she mentally prepped.

Her parents had always emphasized the importance of education, and they had high expectations for her academic performance. Seeing the disappointment in their eyes now, Y/N felt like she had let them down in the worst possible way.

"Why didn't you ask for help if you were struggling?" her mother asked, her tone laced with frustration. "We've invested so much time and money into your education, Y/N. We expect better from you. Cedar cove is far from cheap."

Y/N's throat tightened as she struggled to hold back her tears. She had tried her best, she really had, but no matter what she did, it never seemed to be enough. And now, seeing the disappointment in her parents' eyes, she felt like a failure.

"I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the sound of her own heartbeat. "I'll do better next time, I promise."

Her father sighed, running a hand through his hair in frustration. "Y/N, we just want what's best for you," he said softly. "But you need to take your education seriously. You can't afford to keep making mistakes like this."

Before she could even say a word the doorbell rang and her father made his way to answer it.

It felt like the angels from above had seen her crying out for help and decided to bless her for once that day

To her surprise, when her father returned to the living room,  she was also greeted by the sight of Nick Mendez standing behind him a hopeful smile on his face. "Hey there, beautiful," he said softly, his eyes filled with concern. "I heard you had a rough day. Thought I'd stop by and see if I could cheer you up, is it okay if I take y/n out Mr and Mrs.L/N ?"

The two adults looked at each other as if trying to telepathically come up with an answer for the young couple. "Yes , maybe she needs to let go for a while after having a rough day."

Y/N looked at her parents with grateful eyes and her and nick turned to walk out of the door

After stepping outside onto the front porch Y/N felt a rush of warmth flood her chest as she looked into Nick's eyes. Despite her exhaustion, she couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope stir within her. "Nick," she said, her voice wavering slightly, "what are you doing here?"

Nick's smile widened as he reached out to take her hand. "I know you've had a tough day, and I wanted to do something to make you feel better," he explained. "So, what do you say we forget about everything else and have a little date night?"

Y/N's heart skipped a beat at the suggestion. She had been so caught up in her own troubles that she had completely forgotten about the possibility of spending time with Nick. But now, as she looked into his eyes, she couldn't think of anything she wanted more.

With a nod, she stepped aside to let him in, feeling a sense of relief wash over her. Nick wasted no time in pulling her into his arms, holding her close as he pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead. "I've got everything planned," he whispered. "Just relax and let me take care of you baby."

As they made their way to the car, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement building within her. She had no idea where Nick was taking her, but she trusted him implicitly, knowing that whatever he had planned would be exactly what she needed.

They drove in comfortable silence, the tension of the day melting away with each passing mile. Eventually, they pulled up to a secluded spot overlooking the city, where Nick had set up a picnic blanket and a spread of her favorite foods.

Y/N's eyes widened in surprise as she took in the scene before her. The soft glow of the city lights illuminated the night sky, casting a warm, inviting glow over their makeshift dinner spot. She turned to Nick, her heart overflowing with gratitude. "Nick, this is incredible," she said, her voice trembling with emotion.

Nick smiled, his eyes sparkling with affection. "I wanted to do something special for you," he said simply. "You mean the world to me, Y/N, and I hate to see you feeling down. So tonight, let's just focus on us, okay?"

And as they sat together, sharing stories and laughter under the starlit sky, Y/N couldn't help but feel a sense of peace settle over her. In Nick's arms, she felt safe and loved, and she knew that no matter what challenges the world threw their way, as long as they had each other, they could weather any storm.

As the night drew to a close and they made their way back to Y/N's apartment, Y/N felt a sense of renewal wash over her. She knew that tomorrow would bring its own set of challenges, but for now, she was content to bask in the warmth of Nick's love and the memories they had created together.

As they said their goodbyes at the door, Y/N pulled Nick into a tight hug, holding him close as she whispered a silent thank you into his ear. Nick squeezed her hand, his eyes shining with affection. "Anytime, Y/N," he said softly. "I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
