Alice stood quiet behind the heavy steel doors. Carefully, she peered around the side. No one in sight.
She heavily sighed.
Placing one foot in front of her she turned the corner. Cautious to not make any sudden noises.
She entered the long corridor ahead of her.
Barry could be anywhere and she had to act fast.
Her palms, sweaty with panic, seemed to slide right off of the door handles.
Minutes passed with no sign of the dark haired man.
She wept.
Afraid she might never see him again.
Afraid that if she did find him, it wouldn't be a pretty sight.
She clenched her fists, trying to regain her standing, and carried on down the hall.

Silence.

Her heart pounded and her knees shook.
More minutes passed and she began to realize that finding Barry- alive, would be near impossible and Linus was wounded in the backseat.
Alice shook her head defeatedly and began to make her way back out of the abandoned lot.

A pair of hands, one around her mouth, the other around her arm. Heavy breathing. The appearance of blood.
She muttered and raved, yet she didn't make a sound.
Alice's body painfully slammed against the wall as she was spun around.
The man before her— Barry.
She beamed at the sight of him.
He was alive.
Nothing but a small bullet wound to his left shoulder.
Quietly the two tiptoed passed the lobby and back into the garage.

Barry entered the car, now noticing Linus in the back.
"damn buddy, that hurts" He spoke and Linus painfully laughed.
"We'll get that bandaged up for you in the camper"

The three, who were never going to stop running, drove off into the night as they realized that for now, they had won.
