Paints N' Pots (Elias POV)

Lorena is really something. She was going to my daydreamer, I just knew it. By the first moment I saw her, I had a feeling that she was going to be the worst person to work with. But this wasn't true. Yes, she was tough on me but I needed it. I had gotten better at working in the restaurant thanks to her. But as we worked together for the last few weeks or so, I had grown to fall for her.

So by Friday after we had a moment at Two Rivers Gardens, I decided to ask her on a date. She said yes immediately. We both knew the spark we had between us that day and that spark collided once we confessed to each other. There's just something so special about putting your heart on the line, being vulnerable, and taking risks.

Goodness, I sound like a poet. That is really not me, truly. I mean I was far from it. I was far from anything good. The only thing good about me is academics and having money. I found it hard for Lorena to even fall for me. But, she did.

So on Thursday night, I asked her to pick between the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa. She chose the Leaning Tower of Pisa. I was expecting that, considering it was in Italy and she loves that place.

I want to take her there one day. I could imagine it in my mind. Me, in a nice black suit and Lorena, in a beautiful gown. We would dance to her favorite songs and she would tell me about amazing dishes there. She would eventually teach them to me, and I could show her Sweden.

I told her to choose between those two places because those were the two choices of things to paint at a place called Paints N' Pots.

On Friday, I got into my car and drove to pick her up. She lives in an apartment and told me that she was on the 10th floor. I picked up my flowers for her that were in the passenger's seat and walked into the building's elevator. I knocked on her door. Not too much longer she answered the door.

Oh my goodness. She was gorgeous. Even in a sweater and jeans she rocked them. "You look beautiful." She grinned. "Thank you for the pretty flowers." She hugs me and I want to stay there forever. She leans down to smell them and puts them somewhere inside. "Are you ready to go, Lorena?"

"Yes I am." We walk to the elevator and are standing together. "You know what would be really funny right now?" I suggest. "What?" She looks at me curiously. "Well since you are on the 10th floor of this apartment complex...What if I just pressed all the buttons?" She glares at me with a death look.

I wait a second, I give her some playful eyes and look down at the buttons. I push down the buttons 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. "Sorry Lorena, it was an impulse." She nudges my arm and I nudge back.

We awkwardly see another person walk into the elevator on the 8th floor. She sees that we have pressed all the buttons and sighs very loudly. We get death glares from her and one other person. As soon as the people left, we burst out in laughter.

"Now you're going to make my neighbors hate me." She walks out to the lobby with me. "They won't hate you, they'll just be a little annoyed with you." She laughs.

I directed her to the car. "Oh my gosh, is this a new black Volvo?" I nod. "Yep, I got it two years ago." She laughed a slight laugh. "I wish I could get a car like this."

"Hey, your car works...is it functional?" She tilts her head down at me. "Naw," She says with sarcasm. I roll my eyes and open the door for her. "Get in, daydreamer." She smiles at me again and I hop into the car.

"Okay Elias," She says as I back out of the driveway, "Where are you taking me?" I close my mouth and ignore the comments in a funny way.

"Oh I see it's a surprise. I hate those." I laugh and drive around to a stop light. "You know it took me about an hour to pick out an outfit because you gave me no dress code?"

I look at her up and down. "You picked the right outfit. If you hadn't, I would've told you to change." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms.

Once we are there, I point to the building and she talks to me. "Oooh, I see why you made me choose between those two things yesterday..." She laughs. "Yes, there was a little bit of a reason." She raises her eyebrows as we enter the door. "I was a little bit confused."

"Hello Potters and Painters! Welcome! Are you all doing the Leaning Tower of Pisa today or the Eiffel Tower?" Says a young woman. "We have two for the Leaning Tower of Pisa." She nods. "Alrighty then, follow me this way." She leads us to a ginormous room that has paintings all lined up on the wall. Paintings of wonderful sights, some food, and animals are displayed.

Lorena and I got into our reserved seats. "You ready, daydreamer?" She rolls her eyes. "You always call me that." I smirk. "Well that's how I met you, you know."

We start to paint and Lorena follows the instructor. With this, I do not follow the instructor. I wanted to do my own thing. That's what I've always wanted to do but of course my parents made the decisions for me. And one of those parents decided to ditch one of his loved ones. I surely wasn't going to do that for my future one.

I take out a photo that I got of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and copy it on the canvas. "Elias, what are you doing? We gotta follow the instructor. Oh my, did you take that photo?" I nod back to her. "I did," I picked up my brush and dipped it in yellow, "I took it last summer. I asked my friend to move the people out of the way so I could get "the best" shot. Took him a minute, but there's nothing a bribe can't do. It's one of my finest works." She picks it up for a moment. "Yes it is," She agrees.

Later, Lorena looks at our paintings and compares them. "Wow, you're a great painter." I am deep into painting not even realizing she commented on my work. "Hey," She taps my bicep. "Yes?" "I said," She takes her brush with a little water on it and flicks some water on my apron, "You're a great painter." I flinch back when she puts some water on me.

"What was that for?" I say with annoyance. "Ha," She teases me. If we weren't in this painting place I would seriously get her for that. "It was funny." She interrupted my thoughts. "Mhm," I mumble and she laughs.

"Well that was fun," She says carrying her painting. I nod. "Indeed, it certainly was." We both look at each other, standing outside of the building. We place the paintings in the car and almost get in my vehicle. On a small strip of sidewalk near my car we hear an argument take place between a man and a woman.

The man seems to be yelling at this woman and she yells out for help. I run to help her out immediately before Lorena tries to protest. Instead of her protesting, she runs with me. "What's going on here?" I say with aggression. Was I being nosy? Maybe a little bit, but heck, if something is happening to her I was going to try to help her.

"Look man, stay out of this," says the angry man that wants to hurt the woman. "Leave this woman alone." I stand up firmly. This dude compared to me was the size of an ant. He couldn't do anything to me.

Suddenly the man swings at me, and I do not move.
