(Lorena's POV)

After ending the call with Elias's mother, I decided to wander through Stockholm, soaking in the city's enchanting environment. It was full of bustling crowds of tourists, all trying to embrace the moment.

I saw many attractions. There was the Royal Palace, art museums and libraries. Yet, it was the parks that truly amazed me.  Among them, one park stood out, calling me with its allure.

As I centered my eyes, I was drawn to the magnificent water fountain in the center, its crystal-clear streams dancing in the sunlight.  Surrounding it were chess tables, each one giving an invitation to battle in a timeless battle of wits.  Park benches were nestled beneath rows of majestic trees on the side rows of the park.

Finding a secluded spot, I settled onto a bench.  The gentle rustle of leaves and distant murmur of the fountain provided a soothing backdrop as I appreciated a moment to decompress.

But then, amidst the peaceful scenery, a familiar presence drew my attention.  My heart skipped a beat as I noticed the sight of him--Elias.  He stood tall and just, his silhouette framed by the towering oak trees, unaware of my existence.

My breath was caught in my throat as I stared at him, a wave of emotions crashing over me.  Despite the distance between us, breathing oxygen near him made me feel weak.

When I realized I'd been staring at him for several minutes, my eyes started to well up. Oh no, the tears were already occurring, and I hadn't even spoken to him yet.

With trembling hesitation, I mustered some courage to approach him, my heart racing with anticipation and fear.  Would he welcome me with open arms, or would he turn away, closing the door on everything that we were?

And then, just as I reached out to touch him, he turned around, his gaze meeting mine in an electrifying moment of connection.

(Elias POV)

"Lorena," I managed to utter, my voice too stunned to speak. "Elias," she replied, her gorgeous hazel eyes locking onto mine.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, placing my hands around her face, my concern apparent to her. She closed her eyes, a single tear escaping down her cheek and onto my hand.

How many tears had shed because of me? How many nights did she spend with conflict and heartache? Why did I want it to stop?

Her hair ruffled through the strong current of the wind. I could tell that she needed to be held.

Immediately, I held her in an embrace. I placed my hand around her head and, before letting her go, kissed her forehead. My kiss was meant to provide comfort, if only for this moment.

Even if she had broken me, I couldn't bring myself to hurt her the same way. The truth was, I needed her embrace to keep moving forward.

Hopefully.

"Elias, I desperately needed to see you," she added, her voice wavering. "I need you."

I dropped my hands from her face. "I can't be with you, Lorena."

"Why?" Her voice trembled even more.

"Your parents don't want me to be with you. Even if I told them I didn't commit the crimes my father did, it's just better if we both move on."

"Elias, they don't know the truth. There has to be a way we can get your dad to confess on tape." Her eyes widened with sudden realization. "Oh my gosh, Elias, that's it! We need your dad to confess on tape!"

"Lorena, no. That's not even important. Do you even remember telling me about the other guy?" Anger flared in my heart as I recalled the pain.

The thought of another man touching what was mine.

"Elias, I tried to tell you. Ask Francesco yourself. The truth is, Elias, I only want you, and I know that you must feel the same." She cried. "You must, please don't hurt me."

I sighed, knowing her comment was true, but my pride was warring with my heart.

"I know that we weren't meant to crash and burn, Elias." She pleaded with me, tears streaming down her face. Her eyes, filled with fear, searched mine.

"Lorena, please give me space." God, how I hated this.

She took a step back, and my heart already missed her presence.

"Fine, Elias. I'll leave you alone. I just needed closure, I guess."

After wiping away a few more tears, she turned around slowly to leave.

That was it.

Both our hearts shattered.

"Lorena, wait!" I yelled. She ran back to me, and in seconds, she leaped into my arms, wrapping her legs around my waist. I held her tightly, feeling the warmth of her body against mine. She framed my face with her gentle hands. Her touch was an electric current, pulling me into a passionate kiss that made everything around us disappear.

Then it hit me like a tidal wave. We both desired each other. We both craved each other. She was my weakness, the one person that could bring me to my knees with just one look. No matter what happened in the past, we were here, caught in this moment of undeniable connection. She was the fire to my ice, the moon to my earth, the reason my heart beats faster and my breath caught in my throat. Every part of me yearned for her, every fiber of my being screamed that she was mine. All mine. And she felt the same way too. The love I never thought I deserved but couldn't live without.  Her presence was like air to my lungs and without her, I couldn't breathe.  Her touch was the only anchor in my storm of emotions.

"Please give me a chance, Elias," she whispered against my lips, her breath mingling with mine.

How could I resist her? She was everything and in that moment, nothing else mattered.

I looked at her, taking in every detail--her flushed cheeks, the way her eyes shone with hope, the gentle curve of her lips trembling with unspoken words.  Her beauty was overbearing, and the raw vulnerability in her expression made my heart feel a deep longing.

"Okay Lorena," I told her with a deep breath. I gently lowered her to the ground, my hands still lingering on her waist. Her dress hugged her figure beautifully, the fabric clinging to her like a second skin. Her eyes, once filled with fear, now sparkled with hope and something more--an intense longing that mirrored my own.

I brushed a strand of hair away from her face, my fingers trailing down to her neck. "I've missed you so much," I confessed, my voice showing my emotion. "More than I can say."

She smiled a radiant smile that made my heart race. "I've missed you too, Elias. Every single day," she confessed, her voice declaring the truth.

We placed our foreheads together, and for a moment, we just breathed together, our hearts both beating in rhythm. The love between us was apparent and palpable.  In that quiet, intimate space, I knew that this was the start of something powerful.

"We will make this all work," She promised, her voice brimming with rawness and honesty.

"We will face everything together, daydreamer," I added with a slight grin.  She loved that name.

Her fingers intertwined with mine slowly, and she nodded. "Together."

At that moment, the future seemed brighter than it ever had been before. With our futures aligned, we took our first steps into the unknown, ready to beat any challenge that stood in our way.  The daydreamer and the dreamcatcher.  Together, we were perfect. Together, we were whole.
