After dinner with Elias, I insisted he stay the night at my hotel. We ended up falling asleep on the couch, the soft glow of the TV casting small shadows around us. We debated for a while over which movie to watch, but in the end, my choice won out. Elias succumbed to sleep after just thirty minutes, his head resting comfortably on the armrest.
In the morning, I woke up before him and saw him still asleep, in the same position. I couldn't resist a soft laugh, feeling a bit mischievous, as I took a quick picture of him snoring. In shock, I realized that my flash was on. Elias, a light sleeper, swiftly intercepted my phone.
"I'll be deleting that," he teased, raising an eyebrow with a lively smirk.
"Awe, man." I frowned, feigning disappointment.
"Can a man get some rest?" he pestered back, his voice tinged with mock indignation.
"You've been asleep for hours." When he ignored my comment, I walked towards the kitchen.
"Are we heading to the company building today?" I called out, glancing back at him.
Stretching and yawning, Elias stood up. "Yeah, we'll go today. I'll sort out the plane tickets too," he confirmed.
I wiped down the kitchen counter, the cool marble surface feeling smooth beneath my fingers. Glancing up, I saw that Elias is watching me.
"You know, you don't have to clean up," he said calmly.
"I know, but I like making sure everything's in order. I mean, I work at a restaurant," I replied, turning to face him fully after putting the towel down.
He nodded in understanding, then cornered me to the kitchen island. "You're amazing, you know that?" His voice was low and husky, sending a shiver down my spine.
"Flattery will get you everywhere," I teased, enjoying every moment of our banter.
"I'm serious," He assured me, stepping closer. We met each other's gaze as his hand reached out to hold up my chin, another to my waist. His touch sends more shivers down my spine.
"Well, if that's the case, maybe I'll clean more often," I joked, meeting his fiery gaze with a smile.
His eyes sparkle with affection. "As long as I get to admire you while you do it."
I rolled my eyes, but inside, I couldn't help but feel gratitude for moments like these---where simple tasks became mixed with intimacy.
As he reached for the eggs, a smirk showed in his expression. "But before I whip these up, how about a dance?" He suggested, extending his hand.
"Are you serious?" I chuckled, amused by his spontaneous suggestion.
"Do I look serious?" He counters. His arm is still poised theatrically.
"You are impossible." I am unable to contain my smile.
Setting his dark phone aside, he started playing a classical Italian piece that fills the room with its recognizable melody. As I recognized the tune, my face lit up. "Oh my goodness, I love this song."
Elias smiled, his charisma shining through as we swayed to the music. Caught in his arms, I felt protected.
"Du är så vacker," he charmed in his native Swedish, his words sending a flutter through my heart.
I tilted my head, laughing softly as he translated, "You are so beautiful."
"E tu sei il mio bell'uomo," I told him, earning a laugh and an eyebrow raise from him. "And you are my handsome man."
We shared a passionate kiss when the music faded, lingering in each other's arms for a moment before I pulled away.
"I'm going to go take a shower, Elias," I smiled. "Then we can both work on breakfast."
As I get dressed after my shower, thoughts of my parents expectations flickered in my mind. They would undoubtedly be displeased with my prolonged absence, but for once, I felt resolute in my decision to follow my heart.
Emerging from the bedroom, I smelt the aroma of eggs and bacon. I walked out of the bedroom surprised to see the whole dining table dressed with two fancy plates.
"Wow Elias, I think you should work at Offredi's. Also, what happened to working on it together?"
He laughed warmly. "I wanted to do something special for you. But don't worry, I still plan on running my own business."
"Well, it's still your dad's at the moment," I reminded him.
"True, but when I do get his business, it'll be all about integrity," he affirmed, his expression serious as he approached me.
"You sound very professional," I told him, putting my arms around his neck.
"Does that mean I'm not usually?" he teased, leaning closer.
"Yeah, it's kind of a turn-on," I admitted with a smirk, breaking the moment to head to the table. "Let's eat before I pass out from hunger."
"You're always hungry," he playfully remarked, nudging me.
I nudged his arm in defiance, and together we sat down to enjoy our meal, laughter always filling the air.
As we ate, a sense of contentment settled over me. After breakfast, we moved back to the couch, his hands roaming back as our lips met once more. The world outside faded as we got lost to each other, our embrace promising more than words could ever say.
Even as we walked to the company building, we held hands reflecting over the moment of intimacy we just shared. The confrontation awaited, but for now, we were lost in the reflection, our connection deeper than it has ever been.
