I see Elias take an extreme step back in agony. Then, in the spur of the moment he swings back at the man with an even harder punch than the man had forced on him.

The man stumbles back and puts a hand up to his nose. He cuffs it for a moment then releases his hand. His hand has specks of blood and his nose has a pool of blood surrounding it.

The woman that the man was trying to harass has fled in fear. Hopefully, she ran off to get some safety. They fight continually for one more moment before I forge my way between them.

"Elias stop!" I yell and place my hands on his stomach. My back is to the other man. If the other man tried anything on me, I knew that Elias would kill him.

Elias wipes a speckle of sweat off of his forehead and the man glares at him. The other man spits on the floor and cracks his knuckles. What a moron.

"He's trying to attack again," Elias protests. He tries to maneuver past me but I grip his shirt. "No," I say adamantly. One store owner opened the door to one of his shops.

"Stop fighting out here or I'm calling the cops!" The store owner yells at us. "You all are taking my business!" I stare at Elias as if I had won the discussion. "Listen to the man." I told him. Elias bucks up at the man and the man eventually decides to flee. The man Elias was fighting with says one last thing before leaving which involved some interesting words.

I am surprised that the little man Elias was fighting actually had some skill. From Elias' size compared to his, I would've expected the man to be balled up on the floor.

I interlock my arm with Elias' arm. "We are leaving Elias, let's get that eye checked out too." I look up at his face as he looks down at mine. His eye was starting to swell a little bit which was a clear sign of a black eye forming. Elias also has a deep cut which I know was going to be a scar.

"Let me drive Elias." I look at him with concern. "No Lorena, I can drive." I take the keys out of his hand. "I know for a fact that if someone is injured, they should not drive. I do have my license Elias." I open the door before he comes up behind me, shuts the door, and stands in front of me.

"Lorena," He closes the distance between us and I can feel his every breath, "I'm going to drive my own vehicle. I caused this mess with you and I'm going to fix it." My heart was racing with every second that he was near to me. Everything about him made me feel so faint. God, he was so gorgeous.

"Um okay, are you sure?" I say hesitantly. "Yes Lorena." The way he said my name. They way he was so protective. Everything. "Fine." I pass him the keys and walk to the passenger's side door to get in.

There is silence between us as we are riding down back to my apartment. "Do you need stitches?" I ask to break the silence. "I don't think so. Lorena, do not worry about me, I will get myself cleaned up at home." I shake my head. "I'll let you drive home, why can't I just at least get you an ice pack?"

He sighs and pulls into a parking space. "Fine." He does not want to talk anymore and I walk with him, not knowing why.

"Why are you so quiet?" I ask him in the elevator leading up to my floor. "Because Lorena, you could have gotten hurt in that fight. Why did you try to jump in?" I glare at him. "You were going to kill that guy if I hadn't stopped you!" I yell in anger.

"Okay," He tells me, shaking his head in frustration. I led him into my apartment. I run into my kitchen as he steps aside. My freezer contains the ice pack that I reach for. "Elias, come here." He walks toward me and takes the pack out of my hands.

As he has one hand on the area that he got hurt from, I hugged around his waist. "Thank you." He moves one of his arms around my shoulder and rubs my back. "I just don't ever want to see you hurt. Lorena, what I did was foolish. I should have let the cops deal with the situation."

I leave his embrace and get lost in his eyes. "You were brave and you could have saved her life." He sighs and looks away. Scarlet then comes up to him.

"Oh, that's Scarlet by the way." My Persian cat comes up to him and rubs his body all over Elias. "Oh my goodness I should have asked you if you were allergic to cats..." I say with a warning. "It's okay Lorena, I'm not." He puts his hand around the cat and kneels down before her. "Scarlet," He says to her and she meows in response. She adored him already.

"I think I'm good," He tells me eventually and hands me the now cold rag. "Are you sure?" I say. We walk towards the front of the door and he reaches for the doorknob as a sign of leaving. "Yes, also the paintings we did today I'll drop them off on our second date." I look at him suspiciously. "When did I agree to that?"

"Now," He dips me back and then places a passionate kiss on my lips. I put my hands on his face and he runs his hands through my hair aggressively. He lets go of his hold and looks at me with an eyebrow raised.

"No words said," I retorted with my face completely flushed.
