Something was certainly off with Lorena. It was the way she acted when I last saw her. She wanted to tell me something, but was scared. She was so jittery, to the point where I was positive I saw a singular bead of sweat trickle down her forehead. Then again, she could have been sweaty for her being hot outside.

Two days after we met up, I went on a quick trip to the grocery store. Considering I am the only one living at my house, whenever I run out of food, supplies get incredibly low.

I went to a grocery store called European Delights. I needed some necessities and perhaps a few snacks. I gathered some ingredients in my shopping cart to make nice meals for a few nights. I also treated myself to some snacks including pudding, pretzels, yogurt, and a baguette.

When I was about to grab one final snack, a familiar face caught my eye in the grocery store. "Hey, Elias," greeted Lorena's best friend, Tracy. She was a peculiar person that always wanted Lorena and me to be together. I thought secretly that she had some feelings for me, but those thoughts could be purely speculative.

"What's up, Tracy?" I ask, placing the snack into my green shopping cart. "Nothing much, just wanted to say hello. How are you and Lorena?" She inquired, holding a grocery basket resting in one of her arms. Crossing her arms, she brushed a short strand of hair behind her ear waiting for my response.

"Lorena and I are doing well, though I sense she's keeping something from me," I told her. "Or she's keeping something away that her parents told her." I suspected there might be issues with her parents because whenever I asked about them, she seemed eager to change the subject.

I briefly hesitated, wondering if sharing my suspicions about Lorena was appropriate to share with Tracy, but the words already left my mouth.

"Well, her parents are back. But do you know about what they said to her?" She asked, moving to the side once a person was trying to get through the aisle. "No, I haven't. What happened?" I asked, perplexed.

"Oh no, I shouldn't tell you...Lorena probably intends on telling you herself." She held her head with her hand and shook her head, regret flickering across her expression.

"No, Tracy, what is it?" I urged persistently. "Uh," she stuttered. "What?!" I exclaimed.

"There's another boy, Elias." My heart sank. "Her parents are trying to set her up with someone else. She went on a date yesterday."

"You're lying to me, Tracy," I protested, closing my eyes, trying to ignore what she just told me. "I'm not, trust me. But please, don't be upset." She pleaded.

"HOW CAN I NOT BE ANGRY!" I erupted, completely ignoring the fact that I was in public. I saw an older man looking at me, startled, as if I was a man holding a weapon. "Elias, calm down," Tracy put her hand on my arm that was out holding the cart. I shook my head in disbelief. I swiftly paid for my food and stormed out.

I couldn't fathom it. Lorena had been on a date with me, and yesterday she decided to go out with someone else. She didn't even tell me. She was cheating on me....

Upon arriving home, I headed to my garage where I kept my boxing bag. Fueled by anger and frustration, I unleashed a round of punches on the bag, picturing the other man's face with each strike. My punches were so forceful that they tore through the fabric of the punching bag, leaving rips along the side of the bag. "Great," I muttered to myself, facing the fact that I would need to buy a replacement.

How could she?
