The group wakes up from their sleep. It is early morning yet a long and extensive journey awaits. The scored lands of the ancient dragons, a blacked desert is close. The group sets off, bearing the overpowering heat.
Carter: this is going to be dangerous
Wren: we know now lets go
The group enters the desert. Skeletons of various species litter the area. A small group of tents are concealed in a collection of these skeletons.
Jana: hum, that appears to be a cap. We might be able to get supplies or even find someone to guide us.
Peri: good idea. Hun, what do you think? (everyone looks at nex)
Nex (taken by surprise): um yes whatever
Peri: are you ok sweetie
Nex: i am fine just thinking.
The group enters the tent area and it is destroyed. A few decaying bodies are visible.
Peri: lets just leave that and make it up the mountain instead.
Carter: If this is the bit before the mountain then I dread to think the state the main parts of the dragons lands will be.
The group begins the ascension. It is rather quick and once they make it to the summit, the true extent of death is visible. Destroyed forts and skeletons and left weapons make the red sand barely visible. No vegetation is in sight.
Wren: lets just get down and through this place before we need therapy.
A bridge sits between a huge gorge. The group must cross in order to make it down the mountain.
Jana: carter, could you fly us over?
carter : sure, everybody get on me or my dragonets and we can make it across.
The group gets on apart from nex.
Wren: what are you doing nex?
Nex: i am just going to take the bridge. Something does not feel right about this.
The group flies over while nex waits to see if the make it safely. As soon as the group makes it to the other side, a deafening rumble erupts nearby. Dust rises while a gigantic stone figure morphs out of the mountain.
nex(shouting): get away, i will deal with this.
Carter: we can not leave you
Nex: you must
The dragons circle around the area as the stone giant walks through the gorge. Nex avoids the swipes off the giant before climbing onto the wooden bridge. Nex fires a blast at the giants heart and it kills it. However, the giant falls forward. The bridge collapses with nex still on it as the monster falls into the gorge. The dragons get lower to search for nex.
Peri: where are they (he is crying)
Carter: i do not know but we must leave
Peri: never!
Carter flies up as the mountains begin to collapse. It all falls upon the giant corpse and a dust storm floods the dragon lands. The group lands and begins setting up a camp, all trapped in a silence of grief. Dust storms ravage the area all through the night as the group sleeps.
