Chapter 20: Bit

Aria's P.O.V

...

I thought I heard a faint scream, but I only let it roll off my shoulders, pushing past branches and jumping over stumps of cut down or fallen trees. I stopped walking for a moment, hearing yet another scream.

I'm crazy. Not yet.

I shook my head, telling myself as I hurried up, rushing towards the source of the quiet screaming. I kicked the ground as the scream just-Stopped. Strange. I quickly turned around around at the sound of leaves crunching.

"Aha. So funny, you hottie." I said to a stalker, shaking my head and letting out a sigh. "I want you to meet someone." I said, flipping my knife in my hand several times before throwing it at the stalker. The monster fell with a thud, and a crack filled my ears as I pulled my knife out of it's skull. I let out loud sigh, turning around and heading on my way yet again. I ran my finger through my hair, taking a large steps as I went deeper into the woods, the trees getting my close together, more loose and dead branches. I looked up at the sky, seeing dark, dark clouds through the canopy of dead branches and loose leaves.

"This fucking sucks. I'm bored.." I muttered under my breath, letting out a long, serene sigh. I closed my eyes for a moment as my stomach yelled at me, telling me it was hungry. I let out a groan, making various noises with my mouth, dying whale-like sounds. I sat down on a stump, pulling my backpack off of my shoulder, and plopping it down in front of me.

"So.. Can of soup? No. Candy bar? No! OH MY GOSH." I said loudly. I looked around before taking the Rice Krispie out of my backpack, as if someone was watching me, waiting to take it from me. "I'm really funny.." I said quickly, opening the package and stuffing it into my face. "This is pretty nice.." I whispered, getting off the stump and lying down on the ground of leaves. I finished the food fast, I only had it about 30 thirty seconds before it was gone. My stomach was so flat.. My skin pressing against my bones, making people able to see my ribs. "I have muscles.." I said, looking at my arm, Flexing. I sat up at hearing another scream, scrambling to my feet.

"Fucking.. Firess.. don't die, or I'll kill you-" I zipped my bah back up, throwing it over my shoulder. "Again.." I started to running, opening my mouth to take in large, heavy breaths. "Which is possible now.." I chuckled to myself, but quickly stopped, rushing where I hoped the source of the screams were. "Fuck.." I mumbled, stopping and backing up against a tree as several stalkers were in the way of me and the source of the screams. I scratched my arm before bending down, picking up a stick and grabbing it.

'Gotta be smart about this..'

I thought to myself, rolling my neck as I peered around the trees.

1.. 2... 3, 4, 5.. 6, 7, and eight of them..

Eight? Easy.. Right? Yea, Yea completely easy. I took a small breath before before throwing the stick out next to me, waiting for at least one to pop up next to me so I start killing. I waited, and waited, finally there's one. I move myself away from behind the free, seeing that three stalkers had seen the stick fall to the ground. I lunge out at the closest one, stabbing a gaping hole in its head. I jeot walking backwards as they walked closer to me. I kicked at one, pushing it back and went for the other, grabbing it by the shoulder and throwing it the ground, pressing my boot into it's head. I let out a small scream as I tripped, falling right smack down into my butt, attracting all the other stalkers two. Six of them after me now. I quucikly trip the one right in front if me, causing it to fall to my side.

Yea.. Real smart, eh?

I quickly roll over, pushing myself off the ground. I take a deep breath, flipping them off as I start to be more careful as I walk backward. "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you can get over here and suck my dick, fuck you, and I see you back there, get up here and gimme a kiss." I pointed to each of them I spoke. I three my hands in the air and turned around quickly, running off again, now able to get where I was going without being chased by a bunch of brain dead whores, all wanting to eat me out.I chuckled and shook my head, catching my breath as I started to jog instead of running this time.

I stopped running quickly as a body on the ground started to move, it looked fresh.. The skin still very very tan, not pale at all, the blood still dripping. Lots of blood. The hair golden brown..

"No.." I whispered aloud as I launched myself forward, falling down into my knees and rolling the body over. "Firess, get up.." I said quickly, slapping the side of her face. A blind fold around her eyes, but her hands were loose. I let out a sigh as I saw rope burns in her wrist. "What happened..?" I said quickly as I ripped the blindfold off and untied the cloth around her mouth.

"No, no, stop, get up.." I whispered, lifting her head and sitting it in my lap. Her eyes were closed, but her heart was still racing. I looked down at her arm, tears firming in my eyes. A bite. A real, stalker, bloody, infected bite. I quickly shook my head as I rocked back and forth, holding her head between my hands gently. "Firess, you have to get up, we gave to get back to the cabin, Allyson and Rainey are waiting.." I whispered again, as if that would help anything at all..

I let her head go, letting it just lay in my lap as I covered my face with my hands quickly, letting out a loud sob. I let her head lightly fall to the ground as I stood up, grabbing both her arms as I began to pull her. "Get up!" I yelled at her, pulling her along, blood from her bite dripping down her arm. "GET UP!" I yell again, dropping her arms and falling to my knees. I quickly lifted my head as Firess sat up, putting her hand to her head. My eyes were wide as she turned around to look at me, my face stained with tears.

"A-Aria.. Oh god...." She said as she crawled towards me, getting on her knees and wrapping her arms around me. My has was wide, just as my eyes were.

"You're bit, Firess. You're gone." I whispered in a shaky, scared, helpless voice.

"I can't get infected... I gave the cure in my blood.. I can't turn, Aria.." She pulled away, holding my shoulders. I looked down, seeing her blood stained pants.

"What happened?" I whispered quietly, licking my dry lips.

"I-I.. I don't know.. Aria.. But it hurt.... It hurts.." She said with a bid. She was so shaky, and so was I.

"You were raped.." I whispered quietly, tears forming in my eyes again. "No.."

"No, shhh.." She quickly wiped the tears away from under my eyes only for them to firm again. "I'm fine." She said. We both sat there, she wrapping her arms around me, me just dumbfounded, the silence of fall was the only thing to be heard. Firess went completely quiet as stick behind me broke and leaves started to crunch.

"We need to run.." Firess whispered in my ear. "Or you'll lose me again."
