Austin's P.O.V

I look at Firess, looking away from me. This is probably way to much for her to comprehend. She thought I was dead. Gone. Forever.

She hasn't looked at me since I've revealed myself. I walk to her.

"Firess?" She looks down at her feet, drops of water are dripping from her face. I flinch as she whips around. Makeup is smeared around her eyes.

"Why?" She asks me. "Why?" I shake my head and back away from her. "Am I pretty? Am I nice? Am I good enough for you? Do I not need to know all of your secrets? I don't mean to be nosy, but I thought you loved me!" Her eyes widen and she drops to her knees and crawls into a ball.

I bend down and wrap my arms around her.

"I'm so sorry. I'm telling the truth. I do love you." She pushes me away and stands up again.

"LIES! Just look me in the eye and tell me you hate me." I look her in the eyes.

"I can't tell a lie." I say to her. She rolls her eyes and drops back down to the ground.

"Apparently you can't tell anything."

I watch Firess walk home by herself, wondering where Aria is. I always watch her walk home, make sure she gets home safely, and nothing happens to her.

I know, it sounds weird, but I love her, and I have to make sure that she loves no one else.

I'm invisible to her.

I sigh and keep walking towards my house. The trees are beautiful, all the flowers are so pretty, I look over to Firess. Everything today looks beautiful. She glances over my way, so I look away fast.

I'm finally at my house. I sit on my porch and watch Firess walk into her house. She smiles at me as she shuts the door. I guess I'm not that invisible if she saw me. I lay back on my wooden porch and look up at the clouds. Rays of the sun make my legs hot under my ripped jeans.

I imagine being on fire. Spreading the fire everywhere.

I imagine a lot of things.

I sit up as I hear banging come from Firess's house.

I stand up and glare at the house. Wondering what's happening. I pull up and my hoodie and make my way across the empty street.

"Firess?" I say a little loud. "Hello?" I jump as I hear a door slam.

I look to my right to see a man barreling towards me. He doesn't seem to be stopping in any way at all.

I grab his arms and throw him to the ground. I grab a weapon thats lying on the ground and I make my way to Firess's front porch.

I open the door and her mom his attacking her. My instinct to hit her with the weapon, so I do so.

I look at Firess, who has tears dripping down her face.

I turn to leave and hear her tiny voice.

"Hey." I keep walking, not wanting her to know I'm the one who just killed her mother. "HEy!" She says again. She says it once more before I can walk out the door and disappear.

I wish I could disappear right now. Just fall into the ground and watch the world swallow me up.

Firess's eyes are staring into mine as I say we need to go. I turn around and walk forward. I haven't walked five feet and I hear a scream. I turn around to see stalkers crowding Firess.

"AUSTIN! HELP ME!" Her blood curtling screams fill my ears.

I can't disappear now. Not yet.
