Chapter 2: Aria

Aria's P.O.V

I sat in the corner of the cabin, crying out to Firess, and Jason. Everyone's gone. Everyone I loved. I look over at Cade holding Allyson. She still has someone. Rainy still has someone.

I shake my head.

Firess has taught me to not give up, and I lover her for it.

I remember her face when Jason fell to the ground. Her face confused and scared, like never before.

I look over at Firess and hold up the fingers of the number I'm on. She just rolls her eyes and look back at her test.

I've always hated school.

So, so much.

I look over at a guy in my class.

I daydream about him all the time. He has gorgeous blue eyes that will stun a girl as he walks by. Brown hair that covers his eyes. Firess doesn't care much about him, which is a good thing. She'll fight for my rights to have him.

He glances in my direction. I panic, and fall out of my chair.

Chandler jumps out of his chair and helps me up.

I stare into his blue mesmerizing eyes. I'm speechless and I just made an idiot of myself.

He smiles at me and I quickly brush myself off.

"Thank you." I tuck a piece of my hair behind my ear.

He winks at me and I sit back in my chair. I now have a huge smile on my face. I look around the room and all the girls are staring at me with jealous frowns, except my bestfriend, Firess. Who is staring at me with a smirk on her face. The teacher tells us to settle down and we all get back to work.

The bell rings and I grab my things and hurry to my locker. Firess always meets me there.

"Oh my gosh! He winked at me!" She puts a finger to her lips to make to keep quiet.

"All the girls are gonna hate you know!" I just shake my head and fix my hair in my mirror.

"Sure, Chandler will protect me!" I say that a little to loud, just as he is passing by.

Firess cover her mouth and starts to laugh and backs away, towards Chandler.

She pats him on the back and whispers him something. Now here he comes.

I look at Firess with deadly eye contact, but the prettiest smile.

Chandler shuts my locker and leans his back against it. I look over to Firess again. She gives me a thumbs up, then leaves to go home.

"Hey." Chandler says, doing something in his phone. I look to him.

"Hi." I probably have sweat dripping from my face.

'Don't think about that.'

I tell myself. Gosh.

"Can I walk you home?" He asks me. That's why Firess left me! So I wouldn't have an excuse to say I was walking home with her.

I just panicked and said.

"Sure, buddy." He chuckles and I do an ultimate facepalm, on the inside. I follow him out the school doors.

"So, did Firess put you up to this?" I just keep looking and walking forward, but out of the corner of my eye, I see him looking at me and smiling.

"Yes." My heart just sank a little. "But I agreed! I thought it would be fun to walk home with one of the cutest girls in our school!" My heart just fell down some stairs.

"Oh yea?" I ask him. He nods his. My heart is standing up and putting it's gear on, cause it hears someone trying to break in.

"And I wouldn't do it for any other girl in this school. Firess talks about you a lot."

The monster has now broken into my hearts house. The monster has blue eyes and brown hair that sweeps over it's face. It's attacking my heart.

"Would you wanna go out sometime?" He asks me. My heart just fell into a black hole and stopped beating.

I look over to him.

"Sure." Is all I say? 'Sure'? I'm such an idiot.

My ringtone starts buzzing from my back pocket.

I grab my phone and look at the caller ID.

FIRESS<3

She's so dead.

I answer.

She's freaking out.

"Aria, get inside! somewhere safe! NOW!" Her voice scares me so much, that I grab Chandler's hand and rush to my house and bust through the door.

"What's going on?" Chandler asks.

"Yea, Firess what's going on!?" She's panting.

"People are.. umm....eating eachother." I gasp.

"What?" She hangs up. "Firess?" I start to panic.

'No, she's the strongest person I know. She's fine.'

"I have to get home then." Chandler insists.

I look to him.

"Are you crazy? There are man eating people out there!" He looks to his feet, and pulls out his phone.

"Can I still get your number?" He hands me his phone and I quickly type it in and shove his phone back. "And I wanted to do this as well."

He grabs my shoulders and pulls me close.

My eyes widen as his lips are suddenly on mine.

He pulls away and rushes out the door. I still stay there stunned.

I'm still staring at Allyson and Cade. They're so cute together.

I almost have a heart attack as a buzzing comes from one of the tables. I jump up and rush to my blood stained phone.

Allyson and Cade are watching me.

I wipe the blood away from the screen and drop the phone as I see the name. I cover my mouth and almost start crying.
