Chapter Twenty-Two: Offer to Water

Glen's POV

"So, can somebody tell me. Why do you all look like someone who had just came out of a great tribulation?" suddenly Troy asks making me—us look at him in confusion.

"What do you mean?" Kaylee asked him while Ema and I on the other hand stare at him.

"Look at them both, they keep on sighing already for the millionth time making me think if they are sick or they are practicing something" he described while pointing his fingers at us.

"Come on, what if I sigh many times? Would it cause you any trouble?" I tried to defend myself but he eyed me in suspicion.

"Don't make me laugh! Your expression a while ago was nothing like that and honestly speaking, you've sighed many times that it made me suspicious. And that tells me that something is troubling you right now" he said making Kaylee look at me in worry.

"Did something happen? Were you hurt?" I hear Kaylee investigated as she puts down her spoon and went next to me.

"Glen, have they already started targeting you?" she asks making me immediately shake my head in disagreement.

"No, everything's fine. No need to worry, Troy is just overreacting. Aren't you?" I said while glancing at Troy and he just stares at me in suspicion.

"Don't give me that look since I'm just telling what I saw here" he defended making me groan mentally.

(Can't you get that I'm trying to signal you to stop talking already. You're making it worse than it is already) I thought before I give him another sharp glance making him crunch his forehead before he gets it making him shut up and continue to eat his food in peace.

I then look at Kaylee and she was looking at me with a worried and questioning look.

"Look, I have said that everything is really fine. I just have something on my mind. That's all there is and so far, no one is trying to harm me because if they do. I have already beaten them by now" I reassured her making her look at me with hesitation and doubt. She still sighed though but later on she let it go.

"Better be, because if you're lying. I will be the one to hurt you personally if you're making a fool of me" she said while showing her fist to me making me roll my eyes.

(I'll just defend myself if I have too. Your attacks are too weak but still I admire your confidence) I thought while looking at her before I give her a bright smile.

"I'm warning you! I'd really beat you up if you're lying to me. And I know what you're thinking. I will enhance my fist and knock you out in one go" she threatened making me groan mentally and just nod my head.

(How many times have you already been threatening me with those same words over and over again Kaylee?) I thought while looking at her as she tries to explain something but it only goes in my right ear then goes out on the other ear.

"By the way Troy, I think that you're forgetting something?" I suddenly said before I look at him. He looked at me with an innocent expression before it immediately changes and he looks away.

I was smiling widely as I shake my head before talking to him again.

"If you think that your tricks will work on me, think again" I said while looking at him and I grin when I saw him flinch.

"What are you talking about Glen?" Ema asks making me face her before I glanced at Troy.

"We'll—want me to tell them Troy or you will?" I said and he flinched making the other two dumbfounded.
