As Ohm fainted at the door, I rushed to hold him and realised he was burning from fever. Helpless, I called the dorm owner, who in turn called the doctor.
When Ohm's phone rang, I informed Jean about the situation too.
"Thank you." Jay extended me a glass of bubble tea and a burger that they had got for me, knowing I had been here with Ohm since morning.
I nodded and took it. I was starving anyway. I rushed to meet Ohm in the morning as soon as our bus reached us after overnight travel.
"No, honestly, thank you." Jean said as he touched Ohm's head and then his to check if the fever had gone down. Ohm was unconscious. "We are glad about your presence in Ohm's life right now."
"I don't think I get you."
"You met Ohm when he was at his worst. And that's why we are more thankful. Because you helped him smile again."
I looked at Ohm's face, sleeping soundly, and then at his two friends in confusion.
Jay and Jean exchanged a glance before turning to me. "Two years ago, Ohm's father passed away. He was very close to him. But what shattered him the most was the fact that he was not his biological son. When his father needed a bone marrow, the test results shocked us all." Jean said, looking at Ohm.
I gaped at them, unable to form words.
"When he couldn't save his father, he questioned his mother and got to know that his mother was pregnant when she married his father. She hid the fact, and later Ohm was presented as a preborn baby." Jay said. "And recently, his mother shifted to live with the person who is Ohm's biological father."
"The day you met for the first time was the day we dragged him out of his house after two months of isolation that he forced on himself."
