Nanon @ 10:00 AM
Ohm and I walked up the path to my house, my heart pounding with nerves.
He squeezed my hand as we reached the door, giving me a reassuring smile. "Ready?"
I nodded, squeezing his hand back. "Ready."
I knocked on the door, and after a few moments, my father opened it. He looked at me with a warm smile.
"Nanon, you are finally home. I have been waiting for you," he said, then his eyes shifted to Ohm. "And this must be your friend."
"Yes, dad," I replied, my voice steady. "This is Ohm."
"Come in, come in," my uncle said, stepping aside to let us in.
As we entered the living room, I noticed another man sitting on the couch. I instantly recognized. "Uncle Korn. How are you?" I greeted with a smile. But he was not smiling. His eyes blank and hollow.
Ohm froze beside me, his eyes wide with shock. "What are you doing here?"
My father's eyes widened as well, looking between us in confusion. "Wait, you two know each other?"
Uncle Korn stood up, his face pale. "Ohm, I didn't expect to see you here."
I turned to Ohm, my mind racing. "Ohm, what's going on?"
Ohm's voice was shaky as he replied, "That's the man I told you about. My... my biological father."
The room fell silent, the weight of the revelation settling over us. My father looked stunned, and I felt a sense of confusion and unease.
"How... how is this possible?" I whispered, my mind struggling to process the information.
Uncle Korn stepped forward; his expression pained. "I... I didn't know you were related to Nanon. This is a shock to me as well."
Ohm looked at Uncle Korn, his eyes filled with a mix of anger and pain. "I don't care about that. In fact, I don't care about anything related to you."
Ohm pulled back his hand that Uncle Korn had grabbed. "And don't touch me. I don't have anything to do with you. Remember. You're not my father. I don't care if your sperms made me but I am man whom my real father raised, whose name I use with mine."
The tension in the room was palpable, and I could feel Ohm's other hand trembling in mine. "This is all too much," he said, his voice barely above a whisper.
My father cleared his throat, trying to make sense of the situation. "Ohm, Korn is my closest friend. I had no idea about your... history. This is... unexpected."
I squeezed Ohm's hand, trying to offer some comfort.
Ohm turned to me and I could see the turmoil in his eyes. "I need some air," he said, turning towards the door. I followed him, my heart aching for the pain he was in.
