Sanjana watched with amusement as Malang tried (and failed) to hide behind his book. "Alright, alright," she chuckled, patting his arm gently. "I won't tease you anymore. But seriously, this sudden interest in reading is quite a change. Did someone recommend a good book?"
Malang peeked over the edge of the book, a flicker of sadness replacing the blush on his cheeks. He hesitated for a moment, then mumbled, "Actually, Bhabhi... there's something I haven't told you."
Sanjana's playful smile softened into concern. The light seemed to have dimmed in Malang's eyes. Pulling back slightly, she asked gently, "What is it, Malang? You can tell me anything."
Malang fidgeted with the book in his lap, his voice barely a whisper. "Remember how I told you about Neel and how much he cares for me?"
Sanjana nodded, her heart clenching at the sudden shift in his mood. "Yes, you did. What about him?"
"Well," Malang continued, his voice cracking slightly, "there's something else I didn't tell you. Something that... well, it made me really sad."
Sanjana reached out and squeezed his hand comfortingly. "Hey, it's okay. Whatever it is, you can talk to me."
Taking a deep breath, Malang blurted out, "Remember how I told you everyone at the college knew about this stupid bet – the one where they dared Neel to befriend me?"
Sanjana's brow furrowed. "Bet? What bet?"
Malang explained, his voice filled with hurt, "It turned out everyone knew. Even Neel's sister, Rihanna, told me so. It felt like... like they were all just playing a game with me. And the worst part? I thought Neel was different, that he actually cared."
A wave of anger washed over Sanjana. How could anyone do something so cruel? She squeezed Malang's hand even tighter, her voice firm. "Oh, honey, that's awful! I can't believe they did that to you. No wonder you're upset."
Malang looked up at her, his eyes glistening. "It just made me question everything, Bhabhi. Did Neel ever really care about me? Or was it all just part of the bet?"
Sanjana knew these were tough questions, and Malang deserved honest answers. But the truth was complicated. "Look, Malang," she said carefully, "I can't speak for Neel, but I can tell you this – the way you talk about him, the way your eyes light up... that tells me something real is going on between you two. Friendships don't form that easily, especially not friendships built on lies."
Malang stared down at his lap, a flicker of hope battling with the lingering hurt. "Do you really think so?"
Sanjana smiled. "I know so. Now, how about we forget about all this for a while? I was craving some ice cream. Fancy joining me in the garden for a scoop – or two?"
Malang's face broke into a reluctant smile. "Ice cream sounds good, Bhabhi. Thanks."
Sanjana beamed. "That's the spirit! Let's go get some fresh air and clear your head. We can talk more about Neel later, if you want. But for now, let's just enjoy some delicious ice cream and forget about everything else."
As they walked out towards the garden, hand in hand, a sliver of hope flickered within Malang. Maybe, just maybe, Sanjana was right. Maybe there was still a chance for something real with Neel.

The sun had set, casting a golden glow over the lush forest. Neel and his friends sat around the campfire, their faces illuminated by the flickering flames. The air was filled with the sound of laughter and the gentle strumming of a guitar.
"Come on, Neel," Figo urged, a playful grin on his face. "We've been waiting all day for this. Sing us a song!"
Neel hesitated for a moment, his eyes flickering with a mix of sadness and longing. He hadn't been able to stop thinking about Malang since he left, and the pain of their separation was still fresh. But he knew his friends were trying to cheer him up, and he didn't want to disappoint them.
He took a deep breath and nodded. "Alright," he said, his voice tinged with emotion. "Here goes."
He strummed the guitar, the chords filling the air with a melancholic melody. As he sang, his voice filled with raw emotion, his eyes closed as if he was lost in the music.
"Tu rang hai mera, Noor hai tu, Aadat teri mujhe Fitoor hai tu, Fitoor hai tu..."
The song was a love ballad, a tale of longing and heartbreak. As Neel sang, his friends listened in silence, captivated by his voice and the pain that poured out of him.
"Tere saath mein ho subah,
Tu hi sabse pehle ho haan, Raaton mein baatein teri, Naa neend ko de jagah..."
The song ended, leaving a heavy silence in its wake. Neel opened his eyes, his gaze meeting those of his friends. They were all looking at him with a mixture of sympathy and understanding.
"That was beautiful," Samira said softly, her eyes glistening with tears.
Neel smiled weakly. "Thanks," he said, his voice cracking. "It means a lot."
They sat in silence for a few moments, each lost in their own thoughts. Then, slowly, the conversation started to pick up again, the laughter and chatter returning to the campsite.
Neel knew he would never forget Malang. The pain of their separation would likely stay with him for a long time. But he also knew that he had to move on. He had his friends, his family, and his music. And he knew that, in time, he would find happiness again.
"Mahiya mere maahi, Jaaniya dil jaani, Mahiya mere maahi, Jaaniya dil jaani..."
