The music faded into a soft hum as the final guests departed. Exhaustion hung heavy in the air, yet a sense of lingering joy permeated the venue. Malang, catching his breath after a whirlwind of congratulations and goodbyes, leaned against a pillar, a contented smile gracing his lips.

Suddenly, a figure emerged from the shadows, casting a familiar silhouette in the dim light. Malang's breath hitched in his throat. His heart hammered against his ribs, threatening to burst out of his chest. There, across the room, stood

his face etched with a mix of emotions – hope, trepidation, and a yearning that mirrored Malang's own.

For a moment, time seemed to stand still. A kaleidoscope of memories flooded Malang's mind –

a vivid reminder of Riana's betrayal and the role Neel, albeit unknowingly, played in it.

Malang clenched his fists, the joyous warmth from the evening replaced by a chilling coldness.
.
.

He wouldn't let himself be swept away by the tide of emotions. He wouldn't allow Neel, a symbol of the pain he'd endured, to disrupt his newfound peace.

.

Just as Neel took a tentative step forward, Ritik, his ever-present shadow, materialized beside Malang. "Hey, Mahi," Ritik said, oblivious to the silent exchange that had just transpired. "Lets have some food na? I'm hungry."
" the Ras malai is amazing"

Malang forced a smile, grateful for the distraction. "Yeah, let's get out of here." He gave Neel a fleeting glance, a wall of indifference replacing the vulnerability that had flickered in his eyes moments before.

.

Neel, sensing the shift in Malang's demeanor, faltered. His heart sank as Ritik whisked Malang away, leaving him standing alone amidst the remnants of the celebratory night.

Just then, Mr. Agarwal's booming voice cut through the quiet. "Neel Oberoi, a pleasure to finally meet you!" He clapped Neel on the shoulder, his jovial demeanor a stark contrast to Malang's icy withdrawal.

Before Neel could respond, Mr. Oberoi, Neel's father, materialized beside them. "Neel, there you are! I was just introducing you to some potential business partners. These gentlemen are quite impressed with your presentation in Paris, you know."

.

Neel, momentarily taken aback, found himself swept away into a tide of introductions and polite business chatter. The opportunity to speak with Malang, the man who had haunted his dreams for months, vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

As the night drew to a close, Neel felt a profound sense of loss.

He had missed his chance.

The question that had gnawed at him all evening remained unanswered – what became of their unspoken bond? Did Malang still hold onto the remnants of their past connection, or had the month eroded them away?

Meanwhile

Tears welled up in Malang's eyes, blurring his vision.

Neel.

The name echoed in his mind, a constant thrumming against the backdrop of his exhaustion. He'd thought that chapter of his life was closed, a bittersweet memory tucked away in a dusty corner of his heart. Yet, here he was, face-to-face with the man who had unknowingly shattered his dreams.

"Neel," he whispered, the name catching in his throat. A million questions swirled in his head. What was Neel doing here? Why was fate playing such cruel games? Overwhelmed by the emotional turmoil, the physical toll of the day finally caught up to him. The exhaustion, the dehydration, the stress of the engagement – it all coalesced into a wave that threatened to drown him.

Collapsing onto his bed, Malang clung to the sheets, his body wracked with silent sobs. He couldn't face this alone. He needed time to process the whirlwind of emotions, to understand what Neel's presence meant for him. Sleep, a refuge from the storm raging within, claimed him.

Back, at the venue, the after-effects of the emotional rollercoaster were taking their toll on Neel as well. His mind replayed every stolen glance, every shared secret with Malang, a bittersweet ache settling in his chest.

Mr. Agarwal, noticing Neel's pale and drawn face, approached him with concern. "Neel, are you alright? You don't look well."

Veer and Sanjana, picking up on the tension, also joined them. A hand on his forehead confirmed their suspicions – Neel was burning up with a fever.

"Maa," Sanjana called out, her voice laced with concern. "Neel seems to have a fever."

"What!! Come on neel lets go to the hospital " concerned mrs oberoi said

"Perhaps it would be best if he stayed our home tonight, instead of going back to the hotel." Mrs.Agrwal said

" Uh please don't be botherd, Neel was having busy in between college and work stress and then sudden travel, so that's why.... please don't be botherd by us"Mr.oberoi said.

Mr. Agarwal, ever the picture of graciousness, immediately took charge. "Nonsense! He can stay here, in one of our guest rooms. There's no need for him to risk getting sicker at a hotel."

Neel, initially hesitant, felt a wave of relief wash over him. The thought of facing the empty hotel room, of grappling with his emotions alone, was daunting. Mr. Oberoi, unfortunately, had a meeting to attend in the city and wouldn't be returning until later.

With Mrs. Agarwal's insistence and Sanjana's support, Neel reluctantly agreed. Sanjana, ever the considerate bahu, showed Mrs. Oberoi and Neel to the guest room.

"Thank you, Sanjana," Mrs. Oberoi said, her voice warm. "You don't know how much this means."

Sanjana gave her a reassuring smile. "Please, aunty, don't thank me. Papa always speaks so highly of Neel, considers him like his own son. And in a family, we don't say thanks."

A wave of gratitude washed over Mrs. Oberoi. The genuine care and concern radiating from Sanjana warmed her heart. With a gentle smile, she settled Mrs. Oberoi into the guest room, leaving Neel to succumb to a feverish sleep, his dreams filled with fragments of the past and the uncertain promise of the future.
