The morning sun streamed through the windows, casting a warm glow over the breakfast table. The Oberois and Neel sat amidst the Agarwal family, enjoying a delicious spread. However, the air crackled with a tension that went beyond the goodbyes they were about to share.
Mr. Agarwal, ever the gracious host, expressed his disappointment at their imminent departure. "I was hoping you all could stay a bit longer," he said.
Somya, ever the fashion enthusiast, seized the opportunity. "Mrs. Oberoi," she chirped, her voice tinged with excitement, "your name is synonymous with fashion! Your help with my wedding shopping would be invaluable. Please, aunty, say you'll help me! I'm a huge fan of your company, and your guidance would be like gold! Think of me as your daughter!"
Somya's dramatic plea drew a chuckle from Mrs. Oberoi. Charmed by Somya's enthusiasm, she readily agreed. Turning to Neel, Mr. Oberoi inquired about his plans. "Neel, any college events or functions you need to get back for?"
Neel, his gaze flitting towards Malang who quickly averted his eyes, hesitated for a moment. The truth was, he desperately wanted to stay, to untangle the knots of the past with Malang. But the unspoken tension in the air, the uncertainty hanging between them, made him hold back.
With a forced smile, he looked at his father. "Papa," he said, "if Uncle and Aunty are so kind to insist, we shouldn't disappoint them."
Relief washed over Mr. and Mrs. Agarwal. They had grown quite fond of Neel, and the prospect of him staying a little longer was a welcome surprise.
Sanjana, a keen observer of human emotions, watched the exchange between Neel and Malang. Their stolen glances, the flicker of a smile on Neel's lips, did not escape her notice. A knowing smile played on her own lips. Perhaps, she mused, this unexpected turn of events might be the catalyst for a reconciliation between the two young men.

The Bangalore sun beat down mercilessly as Neel steered the car towards the first venue on Veer's list. Malang, beside him in the passenger seat, gripped the handle so tightly his knuckles turned white. The air crackled with a tension that stretched thicker than the silence.
Neel, desperate to bridge the chasm between them, attempted to initiate conversation. "Beautiful city, isn't it, Malang?" he said, his voice strained.
Malang, however, offered only a curt nod, his gaze fixed firmly out the window. Neel's heart sank. Every attempt at conversation seemed to meet the same icy response.
They visited venue after venue, each one meticulously inspected and critiqued. Malang remained a silent observer, his stoicism a wall against Neel's yearning for connection. Finally, they reached the ninth location.
As they stepped out of the car, a gasp escaped Malang's lips. A sprawling garden, bursting with vibrant blooms and manicured lawns, stretched out before them. A soft light filtered through the trees, casting an ethereal glow on the scene.
"This is it," Malang breathed, a genuine smile gracing his lips for the first time that day. "This is perfect. Just like Somya di would love."
Relief washed over Veer and Sanjana. They had finally found the ideal venue. The remaining task – purchasing puja essentials – seemed almost trivial in comparison.
As they entered the bustling market, a figure emerged from the crowd, arms outstretched. Ritik, with a delighted grin, enveloped Malang in a bear hug. The sudden embrace caught Malang off guard, and a flicker of annoyance crossed Neel's face, quickly masked by a neutral expression.
"Ritik! What a surprise," Malang exclaimed, regaining his composure.
Ritik chuckled. "Heard you guys were doing some shopping for the puja. Thought I'd lend a hand."
Veer, sensing an opportunity for some fun, chimed in. "Why don't you three take Neel out and show him around Bangalore? He's practically our guest, and you two know the city like the back of your hand."
Ritik, ever the enthusiastic host, readily agreed. "Of course! Neel is our guest, and we'll make sure he has a blast. Right, Mahi?"
Malang, torn between apprehension and a flicker of hope at the prospect of spending time with Ritik and Neel together, could only manage a hesitant nod.
Thus began their impromptu city tour. Ritik, brimming with local knowledge, led them to hidden gems and bustling markets. As they explored, Neel and Malang followed a few steps behind, the weight of unspoken words hanging heavy between them.
Suddenly, while Ritik was engrossed in explaining the history of a particular garden, Neel saw his chance. He subtly pulled Malang aside, maneuvering him behind a towering banyan tree. Pushing Malang gently against the rough bark, Neel finally confronted him.
"Malang," he said, his voice low and urgent. "Why are you ignoring me?"
Fury ignited in Malang's eyes, his voice laced with hurt and betrayal. "Act like what, Neel?!" he roared. "Like nothing ever happened? Like you weren't part of your sister's cruel joke, playing with my emotions like a cheap toy?"
Neel flinched at the anger radiating from Malang. "I know, I messed up, okay? I take full responsibility," he said, his voice filled with remorse. "But you're not exactly a saint yourself, are you? You vanished without a trace, lied about who you were! And just when I wanted to come clean, apologize, you disappeared from my life completely. Now you're here, with this… this Ritik all over you!"
Malang bristled. "Don't drag him into this, Neel! Ritik's just a good friend, nothing more."
Neel scoffed. "A friend? He doesn't seem like just a friend to me. More like someone who's glued to your side, practically attached at the hip." His voice hardened with a touch of jealousy. "And don't try to tell me it didn't affect you. The time we spent, the connection we shared, it all meant nothing?"
Malang couldn't believe his ears. The audacity of Neel to question his character after his betrayal burned a hole in his chest. "Are you questioning my integrity, Neel? How dare you!" he spat, his voice trembling with suppressed rage.
"Don't twist my words," Neel countered, his frustration mounting.
The air crackled with tension, the argument threatening to explode. Just as their voices were about to rise again, Ritik's cheerful call pierced through the heated exchange.
"Hey guys, where are you? We're heading back to the mansion!"
Malang threw Neel a look that spoke volumes of unspoken anger and hurt. Without a word, he stormed towards Ritik's car, slamming the passenger door shut behind him.
Neel, defeated and deflated, watched him leave. The weight of his past actions and the bitterness of the present settled heavily on his shoulders. With a sigh, he climbed into his own car, the drive back to the Agarwal mansion filled with a heavy silence, broken only by the hum of the engine.
