The Oberoi car glided through the familiar streets of Mumbai, finally pulling up to their imposing mansion. Relief and exhaustion warred within them as they stepped out, greeted by the welcoming sight of a waiting staff member ready to whisk away their luggage.

Inside, cool air and the soft glow of lamps greeted them. A wave of tiredness washed over them, and the promise of refreshments was a welcome balm. Just then, Riya, oblivious to the day's events, waltzed in. Her eyes widened in surprise at the sight of her parents and brother.

"Oh! You're back already?" she exclaimed, rushing over to her father for a hug. Mrs. Oberoi, still basking in the warmth of the Agarwals' company, couldn't help but reminisce about Somya.

"The Agrawals were such lovely people, Rihana" she said, a smile gracing her lips. "Especially their daughter, Somya. Such a sweet and warm girl."

Riya's smile faltered, a flicker of annoyance crossing her face. The last thing she wanted to hear was her mother praising another girl, especially on the very day they returned. With a forced smile, she mumbled a reply and stomped off towards her room, her frustration simmering beneath the surface.

Mrs. Oberoi, oblivious to her daughter's sudden mood shift, sighed. The homecoming, she realized, wasn't going to be as smooth sailing as she had anticipated.

Neel, finally settled into his room at the Oberoi mansion, was about to unwind after a long journey when his phone buzzed. A mischievous grin spread across his face as he saw the caller ID - it was Malang. He answered the call, his voice laced with playful amusement.

"Hey Mahi!" he said, using the nickname that had become a symbol of their newfound connection. "Missing me already?"

Malang stammered on the other end of the line, caught red-handed. "M-maybe a little," he mumbled, his voice barely a whisper. A blush crept up his neck, and he hoped Neel couldn't see it through the phone.

Neel's smirk widened. He could practically hear the fluster in Malang's voice, and it filled him with a sense of satisfaction. The tables had turned, and he couldn't resist teasing him a little.

"Aww, don't worry, Mahi," he said, his voice dripping with mock sympathy. "I'm sure Bangalore isn't that bad without me around."

Malang huffed playfully, a hint of amusement battling with his embarrassment. "Oh yeah? Well, at least we don't have Rihana's constant drama here," he retorted, referencing Neel's sister.

Neel chuckled. "Touché," he conceded. "So, tell me, what's going on in Bangalore without your favorite guest?"

Malang launched into a detailed account of his day, describing the chaos of post-wedding preparations and the endless errands he had to run with Veer and Sanjana. As he spoke, Neel listened intently, occasionally throwing in a witty remark or a question to keep the conversation flowing.

The call lasted longer than they expected, filled with laughter, shared stories, and a newfound comfort in each other's presence. As they finally said their goodbyes, a promise of another call soon hung in the air.

Neel hung up the phone, a genuine smile playing on his lips. The journey towards rebuilding their friendship had just begun, but the distance, it seemed, couldn't dim the spark that had rekindled between them.

Neel's phone chimed, the caller ID displaying a familiar name that sent a jolt of excitement through him. "Mahi calling," it announced. He answered the call with a playful grin.

"Hey there, sunshine," he said, his voice tinged with a flirtatious edge.

Malang, caught off guard by the nickname, sputtered on the other end. "N-Neel! Where did that come from?"

Neel chuckled, the sound warming the airwaves. "Just thought it suited you. You brighten my day, you know."

Malang's cheeks burned a fiery red. He mumbled a barely audible "thanks," his voice betraying his fluster.

"So," Neel continued, his voice smooth as silk, "what's on the agenda for your sunshine day today?"

Malang cleared his throat, trying to regain his composure. "Uh, just the usual. Helping out with wedding prep, errands with bhaiya and bhabhi…"

"Sounds thrilling," Neel drawled, the amusement evident in his voice.

Malang playfully rolled his eyes. "Oh, you should see the chaos! Somya di driving everyone crazy with her indecisiveness."

"Sounds like someone needs a knight in shining armor to save the day," Neel teased.

"Well, don't get any ideas," Malang retorted, a hint of a smile in his voice. "You're miles away, remember?"

Neel sighed dramatically. "Alas, distance keeps a valiant knight from his damsel in distress."

Malang couldn't help but laugh, the sound melodic and light. Their conversation flowed easily, filled with playful banter and a comfortable silence that spoke volumes.

As the call neared its end, Neel couldn't resist one last flirtatious jab. "So, Mahi," he said, his voice dropping to a low whisper, "will your sunshine grace me with another call tomorrow?"

Malang's heart skipped a beat. "Maybe," he whispered back, a playful smile tugging at his lips.

Neel grinned. "Consider it a promise, then." He hung up, the memory of Malang's flustered smile warming him from the inside out.

Back in Bangalore, Malang stared at his phone, a goofy smile plastered on his face. He could still feel the heat creeping up his neck at Neel's teasing words. He had a feeling these daily calls were going to be a delightful – and potentially embarrassing – routine.

Neel, sprawled on his bed in his room at the Oberoi mansion, twirled a lock of hair around his finger, a playful glint in his eyes.  He dialed Malang's number, a mischievous plan brewing in his mind.

"Hey there, beautiful," he began, his voice dripping with flirtation.

Malang, amidst the chaos of helping Somya with yet another wedding decoration decision, fumbled to answer the call.  He pressed the button on speakerphone out of habit, unaware of the impending disaster.

"Neel! Not again with the nicknames," he protested, his voice slightly flustered.

Neel, oblivious to the speakerphone being on, chuckled.  "But it suits you, doesn't it? Like a rose blooming in the morning sun."

A collective gasp resonated through the living room where Malang stood, surrounded by Sanjana, Veer, and a wide-eyed Somya.  Malang's face flushed scarlet, his phone practically burning a hole in his hand.

Suddenly, Mrs. Agrwal voice, laced with amusement, cut through the stunned silence. "Neel? Is that you on the phone with Malang?"

Neel, his face mirroring Malang's shade of red, choked on a surprised yelp.  He whipped his head around, realizing his phone was indeed on speakerphone and his voice had been broadcasted to his entire family.

Malang, on the other hand, wanted to melt into the floor.  He stammered apologies to both families, his voice barely a squeak.

The living room erupted in laughter.  Sanjana playfully nudged Malang, while Veer teased him about being a "lovestruck puppy."  Somya, ever the drama queen, declared, "Oh my god! This is a real-life love story unfolding!"

Back in Mumbai,

Neel, finally regaining his composure, mumbled a sheepish apology into the phone.

Malang, after surviving the initial mortification, found himself laughing along with everyone.  Their conversation, though far more subdued after the accidental broadcast, continued, filled with a newfound sense of self-consciousness and a shared amusement at their predicament.

Later that evening, as Neel replayed the day's events in his mind, a blush crept up his cheeks.  He'd certainly learned his lesson about speakerphones, but the memory of Malang's flustered reaction brought a smile to his lips.  Perhaps, just perhaps, their accidental public declaration wasn't such a bad thing after all.
