Amaya's POV

It was past five now as I finished up the clients designs, Aria left earlier because apparently she had a "date". Remembering that mum and dad asked me to come back early, I packed up my stuffs. I was really curious now. Aria said it was probably nothing but I couldn't help but worry.

I greeted John on the way out and headed to my car, zooming out of the parking lot. The streets of New Zealand were very beautiful this evening, the street lamps lit up beautifully and it gave off this homey feeling. We were approaching winter, the fall season coming to an end.

I pulled up in front of the house as I handed the chauffeur the keys. I was still thinking about what Aria told me about Lucas getting married.

"Good evening ma'am", he greeted as I gave him the key.

"Good evening Paul", I smiled at him. When I walked into the house, mum and dad were watching their favorite soap opera. Well mum was, I'm pretty sure she forced dad to. "Good evening mum, dad", I greeted smiling.

"Oh you're back darling", Mum turned back briefly before concentrating on her opera.

"How was work", Dad shook his head at mum's behavior.

"It was great dad, we have a new client", I said walking up the stairs. "I'll just go freshen up and come back down"

"Sure dear", dad smiled.

"Shhhh, Gerald is about to tell Caleb that he's not his son", mum tried to make us quiet. I dunno why she still watches this operas when she knows the outcome.

When I got to my room, I dropped my bag and pulled my heels filling up the bathtub and putting in my favorite lavender bath bomb. I stripped out from my clothes dipping myself into the tub. I enjoyed the water for a while remembering that my parents were waiting before walking to the shower to rinse off the soap and shower properly.

I wrapped my fluffy pink towel around my body moving to my walk in closer. I decided on some shorts along with a grey hoodie, the weather was getting cold as winter was approaching, then I put on a long Mickie mouse socks. What?, It was my best cartoon as a child.

I put on some lotion and went downstairs. Mum's soap opera had ended by now. How long did I spend in the shower. I proceeded to where they were sitting and cuddled beside mum as she wrapped her hands around me.

"Hey, no fair", dad grumbled

"Oh stop whining James, you have me all to yourself, let me have this time with my daughter", I stuck out my tongue as dad muttered something indiscreetly.

"So what is it you guys want to discuss with me", mum's hand that was rubbing my arm stopped. I looked up to see her staring at dad. It's like they were discussing things with their eyes.

"Sweetheart....", It was dad that spoke. "Remember my friend Mr Daniel, the one we met at the Christmas party last year"

"Of course I remember Mr Daniel, he was a really funny man", the elderly man was a crowd pleaser, his wife was really nice and very beautiful. I remember he was really nice to me and told a lot of funny memories of him and dad. Dad's face was sour throughout the night. "Did anything happen to him?"

"He contacted me yesterday, he said that his son is ready to get married"

"The one he said was probably gay", I laughed at the memory. He told us that he was going to grow grey hairs waiting for him to get married.

"Yes, apparently his son has decided to settle down"

"That's good news, who's the lucky lady?", Mum and dad stared at each other again, this time it was mum that spoke.

"He brought a proposal, he wants you to marry his son, that's if you agree, we're not forcing you dear"

I was shocked by the proposal. Me?, from what I remember, Mr Daniel is a rich business tycoon, much bigger than my parents. Why would he want me to get married to his son. Why not someone from his own class.

"You know he and your father have known each other way back and he's helped your father in the past. He said he really liked you and with your approval would really want you both to get married", Mum added

"This is ridiculous, I don't even know the guy. I haven't even met him before, how can I just get married to him", I lamented my point.

"That's why it's your choice, we aren't forcing you to, but don't rush into a conclusion. Think about it. Your dad and I have been thinking and we know that he's going to be a good match for you"

I was still confused, mum and dad only want the best for me I know. They would never conclude on something that they didn't think was in my interest. "Okay, I'll think about it"

There was a smile on mum's face. "Good choice darling, I'll send you a picture of him"

"Sure mum, I'll head up now. I'm tired", I stood up pecking the both of them on their cheeks.

"Sleep tight darling, we love you"

"Love you too"

I closed my bedroom door as I slumped on my bed. It was still getting hard for me to grasp this news. Me? Getting married to someone I haven't met before. No way. Even if it's Mr Daniels son, for all I know, he might not even be as nice as his father.

What will happen to my dream of getting married to the one I loved. No, I'm going to reject the proposal. I'll tell them tomorrow. Now that was settled, I couldn't help but think of Lucas, I wonder who he's getting married to, is she nice, is she pretty. His beautiful grey eyes and sleek black hair was the last thing I saw before I drifted off to sleep.
