Lucas POV

Today was our engagement day, it was just going to be a small family gathering with just a few of our friends and family, nothing big. I stood in front of my full length mirror smoothing the creases on my suit, I was nervous and it wasn't even the wedding day. A knock on my door interrupted my thoughts.

"Come in", I said gruffly. Carlos opened the door as he walked in. "Hey man", he greeted pulling me in for a bro hug. "Since when did you start to have manners", I asked referring to him knocking before entering my room.

"Since i found out that my best friend was soon going to be a family man. Don't want to barge into something my eyes can't handle, my virgin eyes won't be able to unsee it", my foolish best man stated with a a sly smirk. Somehow the thought of something like that happening made me smile but I quickly wiped it off before Carlos could taunt me any longer.

"Let's be serious, what's the stats outside?", I asked seriously.

"Everything is set, everyone has arrived"

"And the security?"

"I have my men positioned everywhere out of sight, some are blended in with the guests. We trust that if by any chance something goes wrong, we'll be able to handle it swiftly", Carlos nodded. No matter how much I was all about the security, I hoped really hard that nothing went wrong.

"Thanks man"

"Sure thing boss. Anything for my sister in law", I shook my head at him. Amaya's room was just across the hallway, she spent the night here to prepare for the engagement. The engagement ceremony was holding at my parents backyard. It was a very huge space so it was more than enough for everyone.

Carlos has really been trying his best to get anything about the person looking for Agostini but nothing so far. The bastard was really good at hiding his tracks but I'm better and I'll find him soon. Soon it was time for the engagement ceremony, I walked down the stairs, moving through the house to the garden to see the family gathered, they were about 30 people in total from both I and Amaya's side, I had a large family and that meant a lot of annoying cousins and aunties. I looked around but Amaya was nowhere in sight.

I got called by Leonardo my cousin as I went towards where the guys were. We were still in the middle of the conversation, by we, I meant mostly them when I heard heels clicking on the ground. My back was facing the noise but I knew she was the one by my uneven heartbeat, something I soon realized happened whenever she was around me.

Everyone turned around to look at her. I was the last to turn as she effectively stole my breath away. "Shit cuz, you hit the jackpot there, your girl is crazy beautiful", One of my cousins Leo said. 'my girl', for some reason I loved the way that sounded, he was right, she was mine, my girl, only mine. She was wearing a sleeveless black gown, it had a slit that ran down from her mid thighs showing off her perfect creamy long legs, the gown hugged her curves leaving little to imagination. Let's not talk about her makeup which was flawless even considering how light it was. I knew she was the one who designed the dress but I didn't realize she was this good.

I didn't realize I was still staring till she was standing in front to me.

"Mmmm", She coughed lightly to grab my attention.

I snapped out of it as I cursed quietly for making a fool out of myself. I looked at her to find her also checking me out. Glad to know that I'm not the only one. A smirk made a way to my face.

"You look beautiful", I complimented her with a small smile on my face

She looked visibly shocked. I understood why, one I was complimenting her, secondly I was smiling a bit. I rarely smiled.
