Lucas POV

My mind was preoccupied on my way back to the mansion, I couldn't stop thinking about her, when I saw her staring at the bracelet, I knew I had to get it for her. I laughed in my mind when she said she wanted to pay for the ring, like fuck she will. What she didn't know was that the jewelry store we were currently in belonged to me. It was put under Carlo's name though as he was the one managing it so getting the store empty wasn't really much of a hassle.

My phone connected to the Bluetooth rang through the speakers which diverted my attention. I looked at the name on it to see that it was Carlos calling. Swiping it to answer his call, I focused my eyes back on the road.

"Luca your dad is here and he's really angry", Carlos whispered through the phone. You could hear dad's voice shouting on the other side.

"Is that Lucas? Tell him to get his ass here right now or he'll be sorry", he shouted. I hadn't heard dad this angry since I was a child.

"I'm on my way", I told him before ending the call.

The drive to the warehouse wasn't a long one. Pulling up, one of the guards took my keys driving the car into the garage. I walked into the warehouse, from the sound of my dad's voice, I could tell that they were in Carlos office. I inputed the doors code and walked in, Carlos was standing to the side, his expression stoic but you could see his hands shaking, that wasn't a surprise, if there's one person Carlos was afraid of it was my dad. He was one of the strongest men I knew but in front of my dad, he was nothing. Dad on the other hand was pacing up and down, clearly disturbed.

"Dad", I spoke gaining their attention.

"When were you going to tell me?", He asked immediately.

"About what?", I looked towards Carlos who gulped. Seems like he's guilty of something.

"Giovanni Agostini", Dad spoke between his teeth. He must have gotten the information out of Carlos.

"There was nothing to tell you about dad. I'm handling it", I replied rubbing my temple.

"Just how are you handling it? You know just how dangerous it is to be associated with that name. Do something about it Lucas or i'lld have to step in.", With that he barged out of the room. He was really angry and I understood him, that name cost us a whole lot in the past but I couldn't let him step in.

"I'm sorry boss", I turned to see Carlos with his head down obviously disappointed in himself for letting the cat out.

"It's okay. It's not your fault, the news would have gotten out sooner or later. Dad is right though, I've been taking this thing too likely. We need eyes and ears everywhere. Plant people in every cartel, make sure they aren't discovered. Giovanni Agostini made alot of enemies during his time, enemies that would love to hunt him down now so whoever is looking for him will need allies. We need to be very careful about it. Use this as your way to pay back for today"

"Yes boss", with that I was out of there. Once I reached the driveway, the guard brought out my car. I got in quickly driving off. The drive back to my apartment was longer than I wanted it to be. There was surprisingly traffic at this time. Once I got home, I quickly took a shower and laid on my bed. Today's events were exhausting, from taking Amaya to the jewelry store to the stupid waitress ruining my mood to dad finding out about Giovanni which I'm pretty sure he won't let off so easily. He said he'll let me handle it but I knew dad, he would surely do something about it.

My engagement was in a few days, the wedding in a week. Somehow I wished that the wedding would come quicker. Even though this was an arranged marriage, I couldn't deny the growing feelings I had for my future bride. Her being out there unprotected with the growing threats that might be getting relatively closer, I wasn't in any way at peace. But there's nothing I could do for now, until the marriage at least. The wedding was still a secret and i wouldn't want to alert anyone. I just hope everything goes as planned before then and Carlos would be able to pull everything off. I promised mum, I couldn't get into that stuff again.

With the thought of everything, I didn't know just how tired I was until I slipped into slumber.

A little boy was running through the large mansion, his mother chasing him. He was really happy, all smiles and laughter, his mom was the same, he was her sunshine afterall. Suddenly she wasn't chasing him anymore, he looked back to see her standing there, that's when he noticed something was off. The alarm had gone off. According to dad, that meant that there were intruders, but dad wasn't around, he went out with the twins. The next thing he knew someone picked him up and began to run. "NO!! , Mummy", the little boy shouted as he stretched his hands out to her but she was getting farther and farther away. "I love you", was the last thing she mouthed before he lost view of her.

I woke up in a start, I wiped the beads of sweat from my forehead, the same nightmare that hunted me every night for 14 years. I looked at the side clock which read 3:00, I never slept past 3. I slipped out of my bed, taking a huge gulp of water. I had an early morning meeting and I needed some shut eye, if I took my insomnia drugs now, I wasn't sure I'd make it in time. I decided to just stay awake and hope for the best. I changed into my gym clothes and decide to hit my indoor gym. It's one thing that helps ease my tension. I started off with the threadmill then moved on to the weights then the punching bag, my favorite. Once I was satiated, it was roughly 5, my meeting was by 6.

I made myself a cup of black coffee before moving upstairs to shower and get dressed. I moved through my walk in closet. I had to say that I had good taste in suits, I had everything ranging from Armani to Tom Ford and Burberry. They were all either in colour black or dark blue. I decided on a black suit shirt, black jacket and a black tie, paired it with some black shoes, got my accessories, watch, chain, my hair was still wet from the shower so I just applied some hair cream, it'll be curly when it dries off, sprayed some perfume, picked up my phone and keys and headed out.

I reached my office at exactly 5:50am, the streets were still calm at this time so there was no traffic. My secretary came in immediately I entered the office. "What's my schedule for today?"

"A 6am meeting with the new investors, a conference call meeting with Mr Brian regarding the restaurant and then a lunch meeting with the agent by 2", he said in one go. I loved how professional he was when it came to his work.

"Hmmm, tell Stella to get the conference room ready. You may leave"

"Yes sir", once he was gone, I leaned back on the chair, rotating it to face the huge glass window. I had a meeting with the agent today concerning the house I was building for I and Amaya. I didn't know anything about how I would want the house to turn out, I picked the designs for my apartment but that was easy, it was plain black and white just like my life. But that didn't seem like something Amaya would like, I promised myself that I would make sure this wedding is special for her, that involves our house which will be more hers than mine because I spend more time in the office anyway. I spoke to mum about it and had her ask Amaya about what she wants her dream home to look like exempting the fact that I was the one that asked obviously.

I talked to the agent and told her all about the designs adding in a few necessities of mine of course. Amaya had good taste, I'd have to give her that. There was a knock on my door as my secretary walked in.

"Sir, it's time"
