The hooded figure turned to run but his mask got caught in a tree, causing him to fall with the mask dangling. Sunghoon looked up and his eyes widened,

"Seungmin..?"

Sunghoon froze in shock as Seungmin just ran.

People ran out of the restaurant to see what all of the noise was, and instead of calling 911, they began recording and taking pictures. "Park Sunghoon is this your girlfriend?" One of the girls asked. "Are you the murderer?" A man asked.

Sunghoon couldn't hear anything. It was as if everything around him has disappeared, except for Cheonsa. "Call the fucking hospital are you stupid?!" Sunghoon yelled. "Don't shoot me next." The man said. The restaurant owner called the ambulance and his wife tried to calm Sunghoon down.

Sunghoon paced around the waiting room frantically. "Sunghoon please calm down... your heart injury wasn't that long ago. You shouldn't stress yourself out." Jake said softly. Sunghoon looked at him. "How do you expect me to be calm?" He asked. Jake went silent.

Yunjin ran in, "Mr. Park! Are you okay?" She asked running up to him. Sunghoon pushed her out of the way. "I don't get why you're not happy. If she dies, your powers return to you. Isn't your powers what you want? Are you willing to give up everything for a human? I thought you hated humans?" Yunjin said.

"I don't want my powers back." Sunghoon said. "You don't know what you're saying! It's like you're not even a demon anymore! You're feeling human emotions!" Yunjin said. "I'd rather be human than have powers that can get me or Cheonsa killed." Sunghoon said. "If she lives you'll die! Just let her go!" Yunjin yelled.

Sunghoon just stood there silently. Jake was at a loss for words too. "Sunghoon..." Yunjin started. "You know how you felt when I almost died? I feel like that right now. Do you want me to feel the pain you felt for the rest of my life is something happened to Cheonsa..?" Sunghoon asked. Yunjin stared at him.

"I don't." She said softly. Sunghoon covered his face as the tears streamed down his face. Jake got up and hugged him. Yunjin hugged him as well, not lovingly, but genuine comfort. Sunghoon closed his eyes and cried silently. And then, he did something he never thought he'd do...

... He prayed.

Sunghoon had never prayed before. He didn't believe in it. He still didn't really believe, but he wanted to do anything he could.

"We have an update." A nurse said. Sunghoon wiped his face and cleared his throat, looking at her blankly. "What is it?" He asked, looking at the clipboard. "You can't see that." She said, "But Cheonsa lived through surgery." "You're serious?" Sunghoon asked. The nurse nodded, "Shes not wake yet though." Sunghoon ran to the room.

Sunghoon looked at her and let out a sigh of relief. He went to wash his hands since they were still stained red and he walked over to her. "You're so stupid." He said, "I can recover from a gun shot. I would've been fine you know?"

Sunghoon sighed and held her hand, "If I could, I would heal you, I really would. I get it, when you said you felt guilt when I got stabbed? I feel guilty cause you risked your life for me. Let's not feel guilty anymore, it's going to happen anyways. That's just fate." He said. He looked down at his hand and saw his mark was back. "I'm I going crazy?" He said out loud.

He looked at the clipboard the nurse told him not to look at.

Time of resuscitation: 8:55

"If it weren't for me your bucket would've been kicked over." Sunghoon said. He stared at his mark and clapped his hands, "I'm so amazing. I got my powers and you. It's a double win!" "You're so cocky." Cheonsa mumbled. Sunghoon looked at her and his eyes lit up, "You idiot! You almost died!" He scolded.

"Thank me." Cheonsa said. "I refuse." Sunghoon pouted, folding his arms. "I just woke up and you're being childish?" Cheonsa asked, "And scolding me, which I don't apprecia-" Before she could finish Sunghoon kissed her.

Cheonsa was taken by surprise and Sunghoon pulled back. "I was genuinely worried, all jokes aside. Don't do that again." He said. "You saved me, I save you." Cheonsa said. "I don't wanna be saved." Sunghoon replied, "if it causes you any sort of pain. So don't save me again, I'll be fine in the end."
