October 1st
I wandered down the hallway of our flat building, thinking about the date I had planned with Athens. Since I knew she had never been on an official date before, I wanted to take her to a nice restaurant. Because she hasn't lived a life that would be considered appropriate or "normal." I wanted to show her my love by doing something kind for her. Even if it was only treating her to a special evening out.
Since we've been sick for the past two weeks, things have been chaotic. She woke up in the middle of the night, acting like I had, even though I was feeling much better. I looked after her and made her spend the entire day in bed resting. Since I didn't want the cough syrup to harm her the way it did me, I took care not to give it to her. Hence, I continued using cough drops and Tylenol. She initially refused to take the medication, therefore she didn't think it was honestly good. She took it reluctantly at last, though, after being told that it might help.
Because she spent several days in bed, her fever persisted a little longer than mine had. However, we managed to work things out when I called in sick to work so I could stay at home and take care of her. She refused to listen to me when I urged her to go back to bed. Since she would never admit to enjoying all the cuddles and attention. She was accustomed to working independently and had a strong sense of independence. That she didn't expect me to look after her when she fell ill.
Though I learned that the both of us are stubborn when it comes to being sick as we don't listen to each other. But we were are to figure it out.
After recovering and feeling much better than before, I was able to finally take her on the date I had promised her weeks earlier. I hung my coat on the rack next to hers as I entered the cozy and welcoming flat. After tossing the keys into the entry dish and pulling off my shoes, I hurried over to our bedroom. Where I could hear her walking about, most likely hurrying to get ready.
"Hello, baby! "I'm home." I shouted as I approached the door and knocked a little before poking my head inside. She heard me call and peeked her head out of the bathroom. "Louis!" She came out of the bathroom and walked over to me, exclaiming. She wrapped herself up in my arms as I welcomed her. She nestled her arms around my waist and inhaled deeply as she did so. She was starting to give me a hug back at this point, which made me smile. "I missed you." I repeatedly pecked her head while whispering into her hair. As she leaned her head against my chest and savored the cuddle, I gave her a couple of kisses along her temple, almost to her ear.
How fucking grateful I was to have a wife to come home to, I sighed. Something I never would have imagined doing at thirty. But now that I can hold her freely, I'm here with her looking forward to every bit of love I possibly can give her. She would not fight off my attempts to soothe and embrace her, even though she still had nightmares every night. She would instinctively tuck herself into my stomach without me having to offer or force myself to hold her.
Athens had enough trust in me to support her while she cried for her daughter and endured her suffering. I've tried to avoid discussing this topic because I know she's still recovering from her past.
Looking up at me, with her dimples on full display, she lifted her head to rest against my chest. She is so warm and welcoming to everyone, and her smile is so genuine that I swear it will be the end of me. I am completely enamored with those fucking dimples. She is a truly captivating and lovely individual. "I missed you too." I've noticed that she spoke carefully so as not to come across as clingy.
I pressed my lips on her nose, then her cheek, then her other cheek. Before eventually pressing a kiss to her lips. My intention was for it to end with a simple, innocent kiss, so I didn't make it continue too long. "One more." She pouted, and I gave a contemplative look before rolling my eyes. "Fuck it." in response to her plea. With all the passion and love I could muster, I gave her a fervent kiss, my hands cupping her face.
