Chapter 20: Mind Controlled?
The mask on the masked critter slowly started to detach itself off of his face to reveal his true identity.
“Who is that under the mask?” DogDay wondered, “And why did they come after me and CatNap?”
The mask fell as a familiar face of the critters was revealed. Everyone gasped.
“Mr. Wolfgang?!” DogDay shouted,
Wolf Wolfgang put his left hand on his head, as he was weakened.
“Oh goodness…” He said, “Where am I?”
Wolf looks at DogDay.
“D-DogDay?” He said as he looked at his friends, “And… Your friends? Wh-What just happened?”
“W-Woah… What's going on?” DogDay wondered,
“Did that mask just… mind control you or something?” CatNap wondered, “Because when the mask was on you, you acted way different…”
Wolf gasped.
“Wait, now that you brought that up… It did.” He replied,
“Well who mind controlled you, Mr. Wolfgang?!” PickyPiggy said,
“I… I don't know, but all they told me was to find DogDay and CatNap and bring them to the… Prince.”
“Prince?” CatNap wondered,
“Prince of who?” DogDay wondered,
“Prince is his first name… He goes by… Prince Prototype…” Wolf replied,
“Prince Prototype.” CatNap said, “I've never heard of that name. What does he look like?”
“I don't know… They never told me who he or the rest of those that took me into their demise look like…”
Wolf sighed.
“I'm sorry, my former students…” He said,
“Hey, don't worry about it.” Bobby said, “You didn't make the plan to capture the two of us.”
“Or sacrifice yourself to–” CatNap said,
PickyPiggy lightly punched CatNap in one of his shoulders.
“--Ow.” He said, “Ok, I guess we're ignoring that then…”
Wolf sighed again.
“Yes…” He said, “As your former English teacher now librarian, we must keep this a secret between us.”
“Your secret is safe with us, Sir!” DogDay said,
“Thank you, everyone, and thank you for saving me…”
“Guess I didn't do anything…” Hoppy said, softly,
Everyone looked at Hoppy.
“Hoppy…” Wolf said, “Bubba told me you changed, didn't he?”
“Yes…” Hoppy replied, “But I just thought of something… The more time I spend with you guys outside of who I am, the more I realize, what the hell is wrong with me…”
“Well you did almost try to hurt me at that house party and…” DogDay said,
“And you almost talked trash during the duel between Bobby and our mind controlled teacher.” CatNap said, “...Who's now a librarian.”
“And it was at the sake of me and CatNap being kidnapped.”
“Yeah, I… I really was a piece of shit to you guys…” Hoppy said, “And it all happened because me and Kickin agreed to pretend that we don't like you guys after CraftyCorn's sacrifice…”
Everyone else was surprised.
“You two were only pretending?!” Bobby said, “That's worse!”
“Well I thought it was a nice idea!” Hoppy said, “...But, now, it's not.”
“So you two were also affected by CraftyCorn's sacrifice, huh?” PickyPiggy said,
“Yeah…” Hoppy said, “We kinda thought that we don't need you guys anymore since we thought you were all annoying little craps, but…”
Hoppy sighed as she sat on the ground.
“I'm sorry, you guys, I really am…” She said with an emotional sniff, “I'm just not the same fun-loving Hoppy I used to be…”
“Well, about time you showed us your true colors.” PickyPiggy said, “Come on, let's get out of here and give ya some time away from us.”
“...Ok.”
Everyone got up and left the hiking area. Hoppy went straight home to collect herself.
