Chapter 37: Hospital Visits
At Crittopia's Red Alert Hospital, DogDay was in his hospital bed, recovering from the wounds KickinChicken inflicted onto him. He was looking out at the window.
“I can't believe that happened…” DogDay said, “Why would he attack me? I didn't do anything to him.”
A nurse came in.
“DogDay, you have some visitors.” She said to him,
“Oh?” DogDay wondered, “Who is it?”
CatNap and the others came in with flowers and cards.
“Oh, hey guys!” DogDay said as he was seen with glee, “You're all here to see me!”
“Are you alright?” CatNap asked him,
“Don't worry, I'm fine. It's a lot of injuries, but I'll be out in 2 days.”
“Good…”
“Glad you're feeling better!” Bobby said, “Sorry about what happened between you and Kickin…”
“We're not worrying about him, right?”
“For now.” CatNap replied, “I made sure he's nowhere near us until he learns.”
“Thanks. And by the way, I heard that you won the tournament! Congrats!”
“Thanks.”
“And, uhh… What else happened there?”
PickyPiggy cleared her throat as she put her arm around Bobby, making her flustered.
“Hey, you're dating Picky now, Bobby!” DogDay said,
“Yeah… It took a loss from a duel to make me find myself.” Bobby said,
“Or just a duel in general.” Hoppy said, “You should have seen Picky, DogDay! She got covered in kiss marks from you know who!”
Bobby laughed a bit.
“Sorry, I just needed to express my love!” She said,
DogDay laughed a bit.
“That's sweet.” He said, “Glad you all are here with me. I appreciate your time.”
“Anytime.” Bubba said as he turned to Hoppy, “By the way, where's Dandy at?”
DandyDragon came in with a bouquet of snapdragons, breathing for fresh air.
“Hey, sorry! The elevator stopped working!” She shouted,
“Ha ha, don't worry about it, Dandy.” Hoppy said,
“Oh, hey Dandy!” DogDay said,
“Hey!” DandyDragon said as she was on one knee, “Sheesh! I need some air!”
“We all took the stairs too, by the way.” Bubba said, “We just didn't feel like going to an elevator.”
“...Oh.”
Everyone shared a laugh together.
KickinChicken meanwhile was in another part of the hospital in Holden's hospital room.
“Thanks for visiting me.” Holden said,
“...You're welcome.” KickinChicken replied, still mad,
“By the way, have you figured out who got me?”
“...No. Busy with shit.”
Holden sighed.
“Look, I know it's a lot, but you shouldn't have done that.” He said,
“Done what?” KickinChicken wondered,
“Almost killing DogDay.”
“He deserved it!”
“Did he really deserve it though?”
“...What are you talking about now?!”
“He didn't do anything to you, yes?”
“...No, of course he didn't.”
“So why did you beat him up?”
“...I don't know. I was frustrated. I saw him chatting with Hoppy about me…”
“So envy and wrath, huh?”
“...I guess…”
“Told you he didn't do anything. You just wanted to make his day worse.”
“...”
“Kickin?”
“I'm leaving.”
“O-Ok…”
KickinChicken got up and walked out. Holden sighed as he looked at the bouquet of ylang-ylang KickinChicken gave him.
“This is gonna be a long road to recovery.” He said,
And so, with KickinChicken separated from CatNap and his friends, it seems that everything will be going back to normal, but not for long.
