Chapter 22: Hopping With Energy!

It was a new day, Sunday, 7AM.

CatNap was up drinking coffee and eating a muffin for breakfast.

“...DogDay sure is a heavy sleeper.” He said, “Might as well let him sleep since it's Sunday…”

Then, he heard the door to DogDay's room opened.

“...Or maybe not.” CatNap said,

DogDay came down while calling someone.

“Yeah, I know, it's been rough.” He said, “Don't worry, everything is fine. …Ok, bye.”

DogDay ended the call with someone.

“Who was that?” CatNap wondered,

“An old friend who's a caffeine junkie.” DogDay replied, “She called me to make sure if everything is all hunky dory.”

“Oh yeah, her… Her tail is also a third hand.”

“Crazy, right?”

Then, the two heard a knock on the front door.

“Who decided to show up in our apartment?” DogDay wondered,

DogDay then walked to the front door to open it, revealing some sort of howler monkey critter.

“Holden?” DogDay wondered,

“Ummm, hi, DogDay.” HoldenHowler said, “I know we don't talk that much since I'm friends with Kickin, but…”

“Oh, hey, what's up?” CatNap wondered as he saw HoldenHowler,

“Oh, hey CatNap!”

“What's gotten into you, HoldenHowler?”

“Not much! It's just… Hoppy. She's been acting differently all of a sudden… and… I don't know, can you guys come with me?”

“Sure!” DogDay replied,

“I haven't even finished one half of my coffee yet…” CatNap said,

“Well, take it with you!” HoldenHowler said, “Come on!”

Out on the streets to where HoldenHowler and his brother would live at, Hoppy was dueling a friend of hers. Unfortunately, she lost as one of her friend's monsters destroyed her Armed Dragon LV10.

“Well, I gotta say, Hoppy, your deck sure has changed a bit.” A dragon critter said as she then giggled, “You're not bad!”

“And I don't care if I lost another duel this time!” Hoppy said, “I'm a new Hoppy HopScotch bursting with energy! And I'm here to try to prove a point!”

“What point?”

“To make sure that I can change and become a better person than I once was after CraftyCorn's sacrifice!”

“So you were an ass to your friends after her sacrifice and you wanted to change again a year after of that stuff went down?”

“Correct!”

Then, the two of them heard laughter.

“Sounds like you want some desperate attention!” A Feminine voice shouted,

Hoppy and her friend turned to a rat critter.

“Oh, great, it's RatedRat.” Hoppy said, “What do you want now?”

“Aww, jealous of one of the top streamers of Crittopia?” RatedRat wondered,

“I'll show you jealousy you asshat!”

Hoppy's friend prevented her from picking a fight with RatedRat.

“Hoppy, please, not now.” Her friend said, “Why don't you two duel it out?”

“Ohhhh… Good idea, DandyDragon!” Hoppy said as DandyDragon let her go, “Hey you dirty rat! Wanna duel?”

“Hah! A duel?! Sure!” RatedRat replied, “I am a pretty good duelist myself!”

RatedRat got out her duel disk and deck.

“Though, I will say, my deck is good enough to take down your fourth rate deck!” She said,

“Fourth rate?! Your deck is also fourth rate!” Hoppy said,

“Uhhh, Hoppy? It ain't fourth rate.” DandyDragon said,

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Well, we'll have to wait and see!”

While starting, DandyDragon walked on the sidewalk as she saw CatNap, DogDay and HoldenHowler walking up to her.

“Been a while, boys.” She said to them,

“Is Hoppy dueling again?” CatNap wondered,

“Yup, just to prove her point of changing or something, I don't know. Anyways, how are you three–”

“No time to explain!” DogDay replied, “A duel is about to start!”

“Well I won against her when she dueled me, and she's up against the other critter she hates the most.”

“Oh, so there's someone that she holds a huge grudge for that's not me and DogDay?” CatNap said, “Thank God for that.”

“Well once this duel is over, we gotta find out what the heck is going on with Hoppy all of a sudden…” DogDay said,
