"I'm finished?" Magnus questioned, walking over to the holo-table.

"Yep," Underhill answered. "Those are your keys. I'd explain what doors they open but to be honest, I'm not totally sure." Magnus pinched the keyring between two fingers like it was a piece of trash he was picking up from the sidewalks of New York. "Most of the Shadowhunters just use the Unlock Rune. So, good luck."

Magnus didn't miss how Underhill was being standoffish toward him. The Head of Security didn't really look at the warlock and was just too the point and monotoned.

"Hmm," Magnus hummed, walking passed Underhill, fully intending to leave. But he couldn't let it go. It bothered him because Underhill had been friendly enough when they first met. "I'm sorry, have I done something to offend you?" Magnus questioned, turning around again to face Underhill.

"No, of course not," Underhill answered with a shake of his head.

Magnus just pursed his lips slightly, frowning. Underhill sighed. "Look, I guess, uh...I'm not sure having you move in here is such a great idea," he admitted, crossing his arms over his chest loosely.

"Because I'm a warlock?"

"No! No, no, no," Andrew responded immediately. "Personally, I don't mind, but we've got protocols against this sort of thing — "

"Don't worry," Magnus cut in quickly. "I don't plan on living here longer than I have to. I love Kai, and Leon, but...these screens are giving me migraines."

Underhill scoffed softly. "I'm...I'm sorry. I didn't realize this was a temporary thing. And hey...for what it's worth, I'm glad that you and Kai managed to work everything out."

Magnus cocked his head in confusion, raising his eyebrows. "Excuse me?"

"Yeah, he, uh, he told me you were having some differences."

The warlock tilted his head back slightly. "Oh. He did, did he?"

"Yeah."

"Excuse me."

Magnus left the Ops Center, leaving Underhill to return to his actual job. He found Kai in his bedroom. He was sat in his desk chair reading one of Leon's books. He'd been trying to find something, anything, that would help them with finding Jonathan or removing the Rune from Clary.
