The 1996 film is about Sidney Prescott dealing with trauma after losing her mom and now her friends are dropping bodies after one year since her mom was killed. Sidney, Gale, Dewey and the rest of the gang try to unmask the killer Ghostface or Ghostfaces and Sidney wonders if it is connected to hee mom after she accused a guy named, Cotton who got arrested for her mother's murder.

Spoiler alert, it was her creepy boyfriend, Billy Loomis and his best friend, Stu Macher.

My thoughts are basically this. I love this movie. The look, the feel, the humor. This is the only Scream film I can say I LOVE. The rest of the series and sequels are either a hit or miss with me. The sequels I enjoy are movies I like but do not love. But I LOVE the 1996 film. Scream is my second favorite horror series. Wes Craven andKevin Williamson and the rest of the cast and crew did an AMAZING job in this film. The characters were well written, witty, funny and Randy is my favorite character in the entire series.

My only real con on this film is Sidney and Billy's relationships. Billy Loomis is a great villian and my favorite Ghostface in the series besides Stu. But their relationship made no sense to me at times before the big reveal. Billy shows red flags in the film besides being hinted as maybe being one of the killers in the movie. He shows red flags as a boyfriend before we know he is one of the movie's killers. He tells Sidney that she should get over the grief that HE caused, compared his mom leaving with Sidney's mother's death. I always sit there like, "Uhhh Sidney, your boyfriend is a walking red flag. DUMP HIS CREEPY BUTT!!!"

I love Stu the most as Ghostface because unlike Billy, I was shocked when he was one of the killers but I sensed Billy from the start and ended up being right. But Stu really stole the show for me with the big killer reveal.

My rating: 9/10.
