The trio walks on a beach through destroyed ships following a man.
Villager: This area has always been difficult for ships to navigate, so all sorts of things wash up on our shore. In the old days the entire village to pitch in and help clean up.
Frieren: But now you lack the manpower to accomplish such a feat.
Villager: These waters were beautiful once. As clear as crystal.
Frieren: Yes, I know.
The man shows a book.
Villager: Would you be willing to accept this as payment?
Frieren opens the book.
Frieren: It's a book written by the legendary mage Flamme.
Sozin: Hm?
Fern: Mistress Frieren?
Frieren closes the book.
Frieren: Is this the only grimoire the village has?
Villager: Yes.
Frieren: It shall do. We'll restore your coast to its former glory.
The villager walks up the stairs leaving Frieren, Fern and Sozin.
Fern: What are you doing? The book is fake.
Frieren: So you've been studying like I told you to. Good girl, Fern. Tests attributed to Flamme aren't real. This is yet another poor imitation.
Fern: Then why did you accept the job?
Sozin: it wouldn't hurt to help you know.
Frieren walks to the coast.
Fern: I feel like this is going to be a long stay.
Sozin: Nah, it's fine I give it about three weeks.
Three months later
Sozin:....I spoke to soon...
Fern gives Sozin a pout face.
Sozin: T_T I'm sorry, I thought it would be easy for the three of us.
A lady gives them a basket full of bread.
Lady: Always a joy to see my best customer! I threw in something extra just for you.
Fern/Sozin: (Bow) Thank you ma'am.
Lady: A gift for three months of loyalty.
Fern pouts and looks at Sozin again.
Sozin: T_T yep....we love helping you guys out.
Lady: Have you three gotten use to our village.
Sozin: Yes, ma'am you have a wonderful village.
An older lady spoke.
Older lady: The shore gets awfully cold this time of year. You three be careful.
Fern and Sozin nod and walk off.
Inn
Sozin and Fern walk into her and Frieren's room to see Frieren still sleeping with a book on her face.
Fern: She's still sleeping.(Looks at books on the ground) And this place is a mess. I tidied it up only yesterday.
Sozin sighs and walks over to Frieren and pulled the book off.
