Frieren and Sozin: Beyond Journey's end

Aversion to One's Own Kind

Frieren sits in front of a man named Sein.

Sein: Thought so. I know an adventurer when I see one. A thrilling possession you got. I once hoped to join your rank. I guess that what kids do. Dream big foolish dreams that always fall flat. 

Frieren just stares at him not saying a word.

Sein: When I was younger. I played sidekick with a friend who used to go on all sorts of adventures. Foolhardy and with energy to spare, he was like a gorilla trapped in the body of a kid. That said he was good kid who always cared for his friends. As we grew up, I forgot our dreams of braving into the unknown. Until he invited me to join his party and become the real thing. I wonder how different my life would be if only I took his hand back then. It been ten years since that happen and I regret it to this day.

Frieren: Hm, and what exactly are you sharing this with me for? 

Sein: Well, my villages harvest festival is coming up. My brother sent me into the woods to find some herbs for some cooking which should've been no issue. But you see-

He started to sink. 

Sein: I fell into a bottomless swamp and it became one. Hear me out. My regret was not taking his hand, so please, don't let yours be not taking mine. You have a chance to change my fate here. 

Frieren: Just give me a moment. I need to think.

Sein: Huh? You're messing with me right? What's so confusing it requires that much thought? 

Frieren: Your hand is dirty.

Sein: Ahh, I'm gonna drown in this muck. You can wash your hand later, can't you? And besides miss, to a certain extent, we grown-ups are dirty by nature.

Frieren: Please, I met countless adults, but none quite as filthy as you are....I must ask you for more time. If you let me think I might recall the spell to pull you out, or I might call my boyfriend....but then again I don't want him to get dirty. But he can use his hands....but he's been using his magic a bit too much.

Sein: T_T

???: Mistress Frieren.

???: Uh, Frieren....who is this? Oh you're drowning.

Sein looked over to see Fern and Sozin.

Sozin: (Snaps fingers)

Cutting to Sein walking to his village.

Sein: Thank you, I can take it from here.

Fern: You are so welcome.

Sozin: Sorry for the trouble my Girlfriend caused you.

Sein: Hey, I am in no spot to com-Wait what?

Sozin: Huh?

Sein:......Uh sorry thanks again for saving my life.

Fern: Perhaps but regardless I will scold her later.

Frieren: :3

Sozin: (Blush)......Why are you so cute?

Stark: My night off.

Sein: Are you folks sure you don't need to stop by the village before you go. We're busy preparing for the festival, but I like to find some way to say thanks.

Frieren: We're hoping to reach a larger town today. 

Sozin: Yeah, we need to restock.

Sein: Well in that case, be careful. There are a lot of venomous creatures out there.
