I try opening a portal, but I don't think I have enough energy. And I have no power boost at all. "Hey punk! Run your pockets." said a man near me. He looked tall, he had pink dreads coming out of his white baseball cap, and he had a pretty basic pink outfit. His cap read 'F.G' Oh hell no, I aint doing this alone. I ran out of the way and I left. I run into an alleyway and I try sitting down for a bit. I can smell smoke from the way I ran; I guess I got lucky by leaving. He did look really unique though, wonder if he runs a group? Meh, not like it matters. "Yo Cam, AJ, did he run that way or the other way?" said the voice, "Ey Falcon. He already left." said a big voice. "Not like it matters, wanna get on fort later tho?" said a pretty medium pitched voice.

Strange.

I got enough energy to open a portal though, so I do just that. I fall down and I'm back in Magen City, oddly enough though, It looked a little dead. I'm kind of surprised it looked like that though. Wasn't it alive just four hours ago? I do wonder what else could happen, knowing damn well Magen has definitely set up a trap for me.

My hands are feeling some sort of tingle. I look down at them and there's a bunch of electricity pouring for some reason; Something isn't right. My portals start tweaking out again, and they're just going wild. It's like something is preventing me from taking control of my abilities!

I wonder what's really going on, what's really happening.

"So it was true, you are on the run." said a woman. "Are you the one doing this to my powers?!" I said. "My name is Coline Bourdier. Pleased to meet you." said Coline. "And my name is J-Jax Trevor. Can you stop with that energy taking machine?!" I said, as my hands were still pouring with electricity. She turns it off and says, "Good thing you aren't like Magen. I would've already killed you by now, just if that was the case." She said. Well that's scary, I don't think I want to be killed right now. I haven't even gotten out of this place!

"Well damn, thank you." I said. I hear someone in the distance, "Where could this brat run off to!?" said Magen, "Forgive me sir, but I think we lost him." said Onix. I get Coline's attention and I point to a nearby hiding spot. As we run to the hiding spot, I hear Magen yell loudly. "You're useless! Why did I even get you to work for me anyway!" Uh oh. They're walking near the hiding spot we have, but Magen's just looking at Onix.

I see Magen grab Onix by his skull. But Onix doesn't resist. He doesn't scream. He doesn't flinch. Not even when his jaw meets the rough ground. Not even when the grass is stained red. He was dead even before laying on his deathbed, of dust and little vegetation of no significance.

"W-What the.." I whispered, "Why would he..." Why? For what purpose? What was the point? He died just because of me. It's my fault, isn't it? "Don't blame yourself for it. Magen's just an insolent asshole that wants fame and money." said Coline, "It's ok Jax. You will avenge your friend, along with everyone he's killed."

I look down at my hands. I hear Magen still talking, "What a useless monkey. Good thing I got him for good." I look back up and I see that he's thrown Onix's corpse down to the ground. His head is shattered, battered even. It's a horrible sight to see.

I'll avenge him, along with everyone else he's tortured.

My watch goes off with a notification. It reads, "Make him pay. Make him regret laying a finger on him." I will Jax. I'll make sure of it.

I spawn a portal beneath me, and it leads me somewhere else. "Have a safe trip Jax! Good luck." said Coline. As I land on another sidewalk, my shoes and most of my body becomes pixelated. Kind of like a video game. Strangely enough though, my voice isn't distorted or pixelated at all.

This feeling again. Welcome back. As if the first time wasn't enough. Like an insect who sees their friend taken by a bird, I am only a ball that the universe juggles in this mad circus. I am pushes and pulled by -

Woah! Someone, or something takes my arm. "What the -" I try to say. ""Shhh. They'll hear us." The person whispers, pulling me to a small alley. I look at what this guy is trying to warn me about: more guards sent by Magen. "I know a place. Follow me." I have no choice. He pulls out a device I've never seen, and from it a portal spits out.

We are taken to a surprisingly modern house. I swear it could be like any other from my own world. "Is this your home?" I ask. "Yes." He says. "Oh, by the way, what's your name?" I ask. "I'm Clyde. Nice to meet you, Jax." He says. I'm confused. "Wait, how do you know my name?" I ask. "When you are wanted for challenging Magen, that makes you famous." He replies. Oh right. "And, by the way, how did you survive Magen so far?" He asks. "I don't really know? I'm new here." I tell him. "New here? How new? Surely you know about your health bar at least." Health bar? What? I look up and oh. My. God. I can't believe I missed it so far. "Nevermind. You're really a newbie here." He says. Is this world a video game? "Listen. I can forge you a weapon, if you want. I'm a blacksmith." He says. "Can I have a sword?" I ask. "Alright." He replies, and he gets to work.

Time to get back for my friend.
