I look around and scavenge for things that could get us out of here. Is this some sort of dreamscape? Or some other world? I bang on the classroom doors trying to see if someone else could hear us. “Hey, come over here Jax!” said Clyde. “Hold on wait, where did Jess go?!” I said. “I’m right here you numbskull.” said Jess, who was right behind me. WHOA?? Was she just behind me that whole time? Anyway, I follow Clyde and he leads me to a huge library. “What the hell?” I said
“I know, that’s what I thought too.” said Clyde. The smell was insanely putrid; Just like the books, that were dusty. It also felt a little overlapped, like something was missing. This is some weird stuff, in my opinion.
My watch starts buzzing and vibrating. What the hell? How could someone message me while I’m in here!? This is genuinely weird now, I don’t get any of this. I opened my watch, and the screen cracked. A message pops up and it’s just all in morse code. “Oh wait! I know that. Jax let me see it real fast.” said Clyde. “Dude you know morse code?! What the hell?” I said. “Glowing..Book. That’s all the message says.” said Clyde. Alright so glowing book, but what does it do?! “I heard something about a glowing book?” said Jess.
“Yeah, we need to find a glowing book,” said Clyde. I ran toward a section of the library; The water kept rising and rising. It’s up to my chest now. I can smell an aroma of sweetness coming from something, but what is it? Is it the book? I swim over to the smell, and I find the book.
It’s really shiny, I’m surprised I missed it at first. The water is up to our faces now. Everyone swims up to where I am and pulls their head up. “Alright, now what?” Clyde said. “Come on, do something, stupid book!” Jess said. Maybe I have to read it?
But it then opens a gigantic portal on the floor, just like the one that brought me into this world. Strange. We fall onto the rough carpeted floor that was the library. We’re here again…What the hell just happened? “What were we in just now?” said Clyde. “I have just as many questions.” I said. “Can you two stop trying to figure out things? Aren’t we supposed to…you know, beat up the troll named Magen?” said Jess. Well jeez, I guess you could put it like that.
We all get up and go up to the door. It’s locked; Well how convenient. I kick the door not once, twice, three times and it falls down. These doors are surprisingly weak. Or maybe I'm surprisingly strong. We all walk out of the library, and we begin to talk for a bit. “We should be safe, for now. Let's reorganize ourselves. Are you guys alright?” I said. “Yes.” They all replied. “Good. Let's review our choices. Do we want to attack Magen now?” I asked. “Yeah! Let's do it.” Jess said. “Hold on. Are you sure? We just lost Amanda, and we already got trapped once by him. What exactly do we have?” Clyde said. “Well, Jax has cool portals, and I can shapeshift, and… Clyde. What do you have?” Jess asked. “I guess I never told you. I don't have any power.” Clyde said. Oh wait, that's possible? “Damn. I'm sorry.” Jess said. “No, it's fine.” Clyde replied.
But before we can talk more about it, one of Magen's guards catch us in the open. “Hey! Where do you think you're going? They're here!” He signals to his colleagues. Oh crap, this isn’t good at all. “Everyone run!” I yell. We all sprint down and make it to an emergency exit. The emergency exit staircase begins blaring an alarm throughout the entire tower. We make it to the first floor, unharmed. Surprising. We’re all tired and out of breath. “Jeez.” I say, while out of breath. Goodness. The front doors open automatically, and we see the king himself. The guards behind us have caught up, and there's even more in the room itself. Even worse, they have angry looking dogs chained, with him holding the chains, barking nonstop. “You kids play rough don’t you?” He said, “Well now's your time to make yourself interesting.” What does that even mean?
“And I guess this is yours.” He says, throwing me my backpack. I forgot I lost it, it contains my clothes and food. “Consider it a mercy. Maybe you'll find good old memories inside it.” He continued. “Merciful? You? That has to be the most hilarious sentence I've ever heard.” Jess snapped back at him. He then unsheathed a sword and pointed it at her. “Do you prefer a different kind of mercy?” His voice thundered throughout the room. “Or maybe you want to meet my dogs. They are very hungry, you know. A cookie would be a perfect snack.” He said, as he releases every finger except his thumb and index finger. She steps back, scared.
I try to teleport out of here, but it fails, again. “You still haven't learnt, Jax? It's teleportation proof technology.” He taunts me. “Ok, what now?” Clyde asked. “We need to get out.” I replied. We can't just retreat, there are too many guards. But, maybe, if I can separate the ones on our back from the rest, we could barge right through them. It's the only thing we can hope for. But how? Maybe I have an idea.
From the backpack I pull out a chicken wing. And I throw it at Magen. The dogs smell the scent, and jump on Magen as well, which distracts the guards. “Now it's our chance! Run!” I tell Clyde and Jess. We get right past the guys on our back. “What are you doing? Catch them!” Magen says. We run as fast as we can, and I try to create a portal. It's difficult at first, but the further I get from Magen, the easier it becomes. “Jump inside!” I tell them, as the portal opens on the ground.
