"Stop following me like a lost puppy!" You shout whilst running further into the flower field.

Laurie was chasing after you from behind.

Hearing you shout, his pace started to pick up.

"Wait for me!" Laurie shouted and laughed as he began gaining ground on you.

You continued to run through the flower field.
His laughter continued as he finally caught up and grabbed your wrist, pulling you to stop, and turning you to face him.

Catching his breath, he grinned.

"You're fast, but I'm faster" He leaned forward, placing his forehead on yours, still grinning.

You pulled away and chuckled quietly.

"I'm going home, you should go back home too." You replied.

"Our homes are in the same direction, let me walk you home." He offered.

"Thanks but I'm fine." You laughed awkwardly.

"I can't let you walk home alone at night." He smiled.

"It's just a few blocks" you sighed.

"Besides, I'm fine. No thank you."

"I insist" he continued, a smug smile on his face making it hard to not give in to his request.

"No really, im fine" you protested.

"And I insist" he insisted, grabbing your wrist again.

You thought about it for a moment, it was pretty late and having someone walk with you doesn't seem like any harm.

"Alright, I guess." You reply.

He smiles, seeming delighted that you agreed.
He began to walk to the direction of your house, he lived around that area too.

You follow alongside him.

You're standing outside the front of your house.

"Thank you for walking me home, Laurie." You thank him with a gentle smile.

"No problem, y/n." He returns the smile, lingering slightly longer than necessary, his presence filling the night air.

"Well I guess I'll see you soon." He continues.

"See you around." You smile again before walking into your house and shutting the door behind you.

You peek through the window to see Laurie walking off into the distance.

You turned around and went upstairs towards your room. Closing the door behind you, you sigh sitting down on your bed.

There was something about Laurie. When you were around him, he made you feel different. It was like he saw you in a way that no one else did.

You knew you were started to develop feelings for him slowly. Which was bad because you had a slight feeling your friend, Jo, also did too.

You began to day dream, thinking about what it would be like if the two of you were together. As you drifted off to sleep, Laurie's smile continued to linger.

6:00 AM

"Y/n, wake up!" Your mother calls from outside your bedroom, making you wake up slightly.

"Mum It's six in the morning.." You grumble, shifting and turning in your bed.

"Two people are waiting for you at the front door." She calls out behind the door.

You grumble as you crawl out of bed, yawning and rubbing your eyes.

Who could possibly be waiting for you at 6 in the morning?

You slide into your slippers and quickly tidy up your hair, getting ready to talk to whoever was waiting for you at the door.

You walk out of your room and past your mother, walking down the stairs and to your front door.

You open the door, revealing Jo and Laurie.

"What the hell are you guys doing here this early?" You ask.

"Jo convinced me to come." Laurie said, smirking, "she said it was important."

"Important!" Jo laughed.

"So, what is so important?" you asked.

Jo looked at Laurie with a wink, who smiled smugly again before clearing his throat.

"We have news to share with you."

You look at the two of them standing in front of you, part of you was scared to hear whatever they had to say.

You have no idea why, but your heart started to beat faster, you were getting anxious. A million thoughts ran through your mind of what it could possibly be.

"Okay... What is it?" You ask quietly.

Laurie took a deep breath, Jo remained silent as she watched the two of you, her expression giving nothing away.

"Well..."Laurie started slowly, Jo's smirking face did nothing to ease your anxiety.

"It's about us," he continued

"Us?" you asked a little puzzled.

"Yes..."he said taking a step closer to you.

Jo's face began to look more happy than smug.

It was just making you more anxious, you wished they would just spit it out already.

"We're going on a trip to Italy!!" Laurie cheers.

You feel a huge relief as he says that, you were nearly expecting him to say something worse that you didn't want to hear.

But you were still slightly nervous, you had no idea if he was talking about you and him or him and Jo going together.

"I already talked to your mother, she agreed to let us bring you with us." Laurie continues.

"Go pack your things." Jo smiled.
