"Please just talk to him" Jack said, pushing a coffee across their breakfast bar to me.
"I don't know" I sighed
"Tay, please" he said shortly, I looked at him with shock, he'd never snapped at me before "sorry" he sighed, biting his lip as if he was thinking of something.
"Jack?" I asked, he looked up at me "penny for your thoughts?"
He heaved another sigh "Look, I wanted Alex to be the one to tell you this but dammit you need to know"
"What?" I said slowly
"Look, at the party, with Kayla" he said "he didn't mean for that to happen okay, she was drunk and kinda forced herself on him just as you walked in"
"What?" I managed, my head swimming.
"He never wanted to kiss her" he carried on"if anything I think we was gonna try to actually ask you out at that party" Alex walked in at that point and silence fell over us "I'll leave you guys alone"Alex came over and sat next to me on the breakfast bar he sighed and turned to me
"Can we talk?"
"Yeah" I nodded, swiveling in the chair to face him "before you start, I just, I'm sorry Alex"
"What for?" he asked, looking a little bewildered"I didn't let you explain about that night" I sipped my coffee "...Jack told me what happened"
"You don't have to apologise" he shook his head "you had every right to be mad"
"I just, I'm sorry, I can be so stubborn sometimes" I said, cracking a smile, he seemed to relax at my smile.
"I know" he chuckled
"Listen" I sighed "How about we just put this behind us? We can start over and be friends?"He frowned and looked down at his lap
"I just, Taylor" he started, looking back up into my eyes "I don't want to be just friends"
"You're pushing your luck, Alex" I sighed, I looked in his eyes and just crumbled. I never really could say no to anyone. I hated seeing people disapointed, especially Alex.
"okay, I'll think about it" his face perked up "That's not a guarantee"
"Okay" he nodded, dropping my gaze "Thank you, Taylor"

"I just don't know what to feel, Cass" I sighed, she was currently painting my toe nails a pearly pink colour as we sat on my living room floor a week later.
"You said you'd think about you two being more than friends?" she asked, painting my last nail and screwing the cap back on.
"Yeah" I sighed, she smiled and reached over to take my hand
"Don't stress out about it too much, okay?" she said, I nodded. Though I was totally stressed over the thought of saying no and losing them all as friends, even Alex. Cassadee and Jack had become something of an emotional crutch to me and the thought of not having them in my life was soul crushing. "Hey, what's this?" Cass said, snapping me from my thoughts. She pulled a slightly tattered, wrapped box out from under the couch.
"Oh, that was my birthday present from Alex" I said as she handed it to me
"You haven't opened it yet?" she asked
"I'd forgotten he'd even given it to me" I sighed
"Well open it then" she giggled, I smiled at her and ripped off the paper, there was a white box and I slowly lifted of the box, pulling out the tissue paper. I gasped at what was inside.
