I woke up the next morning to a pounding headache, my eyes adjusted to the room around me and I frowned, where the hell was I? My eyes focused on the tattered blink poster and the picture of Alex and another guy on the nightstand and I gasped. There came a hungover sounding groan from behind me and I suddenly realised there was an arm around my waist and a bare chest pressed into my back. I suddenly realised the situation and I scrambled from the bed, tripping over the sheets and hitting the floor with a thud. I heard Alex groan again as I scrambled, picking my dress off the floor quickly and throwing it on.

"Taylor?" Alex asked, sitting up in his bed as I frantically zipped up my dress. I started grabbing my articles of clothing off the floor.

"Oh god" I mumbled "this isn't happening, this cannot be happening"

"Was I that bad?" he tried to joke, I shot him the mother of all sour looks.

"I have to go" I said "like now, I, I can't fucking deal with this right now"

"Taylor" he said softly "it's okay"

"No, it's not!" I yelled "I don't want to be just another one in your string of girls"

"Taylor, wait, please" he yelled as I ran from his room. I could feel my eyes stinging. This was all too familiar. I ran straight into Jack in the hallway.

"Ow, Taylor?" he said "what are you doing here?"

"I, uh, I-" I stammered, then gave up and ran down through the living room, past Zack, Sandy, Rian and Cassadee and out the front door with a slam. What the hell was wrong with me?

ALEX P.O.V.

I threw my clothes on in lightning speed and ran after her but it was too late, she was out the front door in a ridiculous amount of time. I opened the front door just in time to see her truck disappear down the street.

"Fuck" I said angrily, I slammed the door behind her. Attracting the attention of everyone in the house, I slammed my fist into the door "Fuck" I repeated, leaning my forehead against it. I sighed, dropping to my knees on the floor, leaning my forehead in my hands.

"Alex" Cassadee said calmly."I'm fine" I managed, even though I could literally feel myself about to have a breakdown "I'm fine" I repeated, getting to my feet. I could feel myself walking to the door and out of it.

"Where are you going?" Jack asked carefully

"I - I just need to go" I muttered, climbing into the front seat of my car and taking off.

JACK P.O.V.

"I'm starting to worry about him" Cassadee sighed, looking out the living room window. It had gotten dark about an hour ago and Alex had been gone all day. He wasn't answering calls, or texts, or anything. Neither was Taylor but I'd gone round to hers earlier and she was in and told me to leave her alone. Which hurt a lot but I understood she just needed to be by herself right now. The four of us could only assume what had happened.

"He'll turn up" Rian sighed, wrapping an arm around his girlfriend, pushing a kiss into the side of Cass's head "you know how he is, he just needs to cool off"

Cass sighed "Okay, I'm going to sleep, if he's not back in the morning we have to call the police"

"Yeah, okay" I nodded, rubbing my forehead. Cassadee and Rian disappeared upstairs, I felt Zack grip my shoulder.

"He'll be fine, Jack" he said, I nodded "Rian's right, he'll cool off and be back in the morning like nothing happened"

"Thanks Zack" I said, he nodded and walked upstairs to his room too. I sighed, rubbing my temples. I was so worried I don't think I could actually sleep right now. I looked down at the cold coffee in my hand and just downed the rest of it. Cassadee had made us decaf and I wish she hadn't. My thoughts were interrupted by my phone ringing. I looked at the screen to see Alex flashing on my screen. I could not have answered quicker.

"Hey, Alex, where are you?" I asked quickly, he didn't reply but I could hear him breathing "Alex, are you okay? Tell me where you are"

"I fucked up, Jack" he said, his words came out ragged. I could tell he'd been crying and was most probably drunk as fuck.

"Alex, where are you?" I said, grabbing my car keys "Don't try and drive, okay? Just tell me where you are I'll come get you"

"I'm such an asshole" he laughed coldly

"Alex, take a few deep breaths okay, just tell me where you are, it'll be okay" I said but the line went dead "dammit!" I cursed, thinking over where the hell he would go. It suddenly hit me and I can't believe I didn't think of it before now. I ran out the front door and to my car, I jumped into the front seat and turned the key, the car roared to life. I sped down the highway towards the edge of Nashville, taking a hard right into the forest that was about 10 kilometres away from the house. I remember Alex going on holiday here as a teenager, the last holiday he'd had with Tom. He'd told me about the Tailwater Lake and how much he loved it, that Tom had him and gone fishing here 6 months before he died. I knew he'd be there. I broke the speed limit numerous times. When I managed to get through the forest I rolled into the small parking lot beside the lake. I saw Alex's car, he was sitting on the hood with a half empty bottle of Jack Daniels in his hand. I sighed and got out, walking over to him. He was staring out to the lake, his eyes were red, the skin around them red as well, I could see that his cheeks were wet.

"Hey buddy" I said softly, he turned to me.

"How did you know I'd be here?" he asked, I gently pulled the Jack bottle from his hands and put it on the ground. I sat on the hood next to him.

"I've known you 11 years" I said "Despite popular belief I do actually listen when people talk"

Alex chuckled "Jack, bro, I screwed up" he sighed "like not just a little but a lot"

"You hurt her, Alex" I said softly

"I didn't mean to kiss Kayla" he said suddenly "she, she came up to my room, I didn't know what to do, she was drunk and crying" he sighed "I didn't wanna be rude, but she took of her shirt, she'd had a lot to drink, she slammed me into a wall and kissed me" he sucked in a ragged breath "that's when Taylor came in"

"Why the hell didn't you tell us?" I asked "why didn't you tell her?"

"She wouldn't listen" he sighed "I knew I'd hurt her, I knew she needed space, I wanted to give it to her"

"You're an idiot" I sighed, he looked over at me "couldn't you see how she felt about you? If you'd told her this from the damn start she would of forgiven you in a heart beat"

"Fuck" he cursed "I have to see her"

"It's 2 am, we'll go over tomorrow" I said, gripping his shoulder

"Well, on the bright side" he said, pulling a tattered piece of paper from his pocket "I wrote a song"

"What did you call it?" I asked with a smile at his attempt to joke

"Bail Me Out" he sighed, pushing it back into his pocket.

"Come on" I said, jumping off his hood "I'll drive you home"
