"Hey guys!" Dallas said as he walked in the house holding the door open for me.

"Hey Dally!" A group of guys replied. I guess it is true, cute guys herd together...

"Well Dally. Who is this?" A tall man around the age of 20 said looking me up and down.

"This is the new girl in town. Her name is Jessica." Dally said with a cheeky smile on his face. He turned to me after he said that and gave me a big smile. "Jess this is Darrel Curtis. The boss of the house."

"I'm not the boss", Darrel said, "I just look out for the guys. You can call me Darry by the way."

"Well it's nice to meet you Darry." Was all I could force out of my mouth.

"Hey pretty lady! My names Steve. Steve Randle. I can show ya around if ya want."

"Come'on Steve she just got here! Leave her alone. My name is Sodapop. Darry's younger brother and Pony's older one." Said a gorgeous boy with brown eyes and greased back gold hair.

"And I'm Ponyboy, but you can call me Pony." The boy sitting on the couch next to a guy with black greased hair and a cut below his sparkling eyes. "This is Johnny."

"Well it's good to meet you guys." I replied. I'm not so good with words. Especially with a room full of good looking guys. Sodapop, Steve and Twobit went back to playing poker. Dallas stood next to me practically holding my hand. Finally he took it and led me to the couch. I sat next to him and Johnny.

"So Jess" yipped Twobit. "Where did you move from?"

"Well, I moved from Virginia. I guess it's pretty far away." My face was burning. I knew it had to be bright red. I just hoped they didn't ask why I moved.

"That is pretty far. Did your parents get a job down here or something?"

"No. My parents are back in Virginia. I left with my savings and their car."

"Hm. Dally she might be your type" Twobit sang with a wink. That's when I felt someone's hand on my leg. Dallas. Of course.

"I don't know. Maybe we should go check her house out and see if she is lying or not" Dally had a grin on his face and I couldn't shake the feeling of being nervous.

"I promise I'm not lying. I couldn't stand their fighting or the way they treated me. I'm sure they won't even miss me." Johnny looked over with a look of sorrow in his eyes. By the look he's been through the same thing.

"Where'd ya get the black eye?" Johnny asked me almost in a whisper.

"Me and ex had a fight before I left. He was 'upset' that I was leaving him. Before I got out of the door he got a hold of me. I started yelling at him. That's when he hit me." I answered with tears in my eyes. It wasn't the fact that I missed John. I didn't. It was the fact that I actually thought he loved me.

"Well guys I got to get some sleep for work tomorrow. Y'all behave." Darry said walking out of the kitchen. "It was nice to meet ya Jess."

"You too Darry!" When he walked into his room I got up and started walking to the door. "I'm going to head out. Bye guys. See ya later." As I walked out Dallas, Ponyboy and Johnny followed me.

"Oh no you aren't." Dallas called after me. "There is a drive-in movie theater and your coming with us."

"Come'on Dally. Let her go home" Johnny said coming up behind him.

"I guess I could go with y'all." I said. Johnny's face was shocked. Dally had a satisfied look on his face. I guess he knew I'd say yes. That or he was too confident in himself.
