The Outsiders (Jess's story)

My day off.

When I woke up Dallas was on the couch. I guess he did stay. I left him alone and went to the Curtis house. I didn't have work today so I didn't know what to do.

"Hey Summers." Steve said when I walked in the door.

"Hey Steve" I said sitting down on the couch.

"What? You can't sit on your own couch this morning?" Steve said with a wink.

"Ah shut up Steve." Soda said coming out of his room. He was in a T-shirt and jeans. I guess he didn't have to go to work either.

"Yeah Steve, shut up." I said giggling.

"I don't think that's possible." Steve said laughing.

"So, how are we going to spend our day off guys?" I asked.

"I dunno." Soda said.

"I know." Steve said with a grin. I for some reason was nervous. "Me and Jess will go make out and Soda will sit here alone."

"I don't think so Steve." I said giving him a cold stare.

"Yeah. That doesn't sound fun at all." Soda said getting a Pepsi.

"What doesn't sound fun?" Dal said walking in.

"Nothing. Steve is being stupid" I said looking up at Dal.

"Me and Jess are going to make out." Steve said with a wink.

"Uh, I don't think so." Dallas said giving Steve the same stare I have him.

"Gosh, it's getting cold in here. What's up with all these cold stares?" Steve said in a goofy tone.

"Can we just go do something? I don't want to sit around here all day." I said standing up.

"Yeah. Lets go do something. Dally wanna come with us?" Soda said taking a gulp of his Pepsi.

"I guess I'll have to. To keep her away from Steve." He said grabbing my hand.

"Alright then." Steve said.

We ended up going to the Dingo and grabbing something to eat. After that we headed to the lot.

"Wanna play some football?" Steve asked.

"Sure." Said Dallas and Soda. They all looked at me like I was handing out free candy.

"Why not?" I said unsure of this. Steve and Dallas were on one team and Soda and me were on the other.

As we played Steve tackled me multiple times. Finally Dallas tackled me to the ground. Instead of getting up right away he just laid on top of me looking at me. We were laughing. Then he leaned down and kissed me... and I kissed back. We were kissing, but not in a dirty way. It was a sweet kiss. We broke apart when we heard Sodapop yelp at us.

"Well that was a sweet scene." Dan said walking up. Even on my day off he has to bother me. Of course.

"Go away Dan." I said sitting up.

"Why should I?" He said standing still. I knew he wasn't going to leave. So I got up and walked toward the Curtis house.

"She said leave her alone." I heard Steve say before Dallas walked up behind me. He took my hand and walked the opposite way I was going.

"Lets go to Buck's." Dal said dragging me with him.

"I guess that couldn't hurt." I said walking with Dallas to Buck's.
