Dr. Minyak and Nurse Cohort were at the pet store in an attempt to steal some animals for their weaponized use. The Danger Force members teleported to the scene and immediately noticed the two villains were with rabbits.
"Put them down, Minyak," Shoutout demanded. The four stood in a straight line, ready to pound on the two villains.
Dr. Minyak looked over. "No," he said.
Nurse Cohort took some rabbits and ran off into the distance, but Brainstorm lifted her into the air and then launched her into the wall of the pet store. He tried to beware of the precious animals, but it was so hard when the villain towered over them in comparison to size.
Shoutout used her superpower to scream Dr. Minyak into the back wall. He was launched backward and fell down. The rabbits were unharmed in the process of this action. It was their main mission to make sure that the animals were alright.
The fighting continued. Awol punched and kicked Nurse Cohort a few times, while his sister and friend did the same to Dr. Minyak. It was unknown how strong these two were. Awol was a bitch shocked that Nurse Cohort could fight.
Shoutout used her superpower on both of them, sending them both flying backward.
Volt attempted to use her superpower to electrocute them, but for some reason, her power was not there. She did the testing and saw the spark in her hands. Her powers were not back, and she was confused due to her previous result.
She looked around and noticed that no one had heeded her attention. "What?!" she whispered, extremely confused and upset. Her electrokinesis would not work, and she could not see the red spark of glory inside her warm hands.
Nurse Cohort was able to knock Awol down for a little bit, but he was able to teleport himself back to a standing spot.
Volt looked down at her hands and tried to zap Minyak. She was unsuccessful in her attempt. She then tried to just zap whatever was in her direction and failed with that too. This was too confusing and she didn't know how this was happening to her. She wished it happened to someone else too.
Thankfully, no one noticed.
She was relieved that no one did. But she was so confused about how the hell her superpower was not there after she repeated the tests and saw the spark in her warm hands. That was the thing. She only saw a minuscule spark. She didn't even think to make sure that she could use them.
Shoutout and Brainstorm beat the shit out of Dr. Minyak. Awol came running across the side with four rabbits in his arms. He was laughing as he dragged them along with him. He returned them to the shop and then joined the fight.
Volt was freaking out. She was lost and puzzled, and she didn't know how it was possible for her not to have her damn superpower back after all that effort she went into. "No, no," she told herself. "This can't be." Once more, she tried to send out an electrocution, but nothing came out.
Shoutout, Brainstorm, and Awol hadn't even noticed that she wasn't in the fight until she started to panic out loud. "No, no, no, no," she repeated the same word over and over. It felt like the only logical thing for her to do now.
Shoutout turned back with a worried expression. "Volt?" she asked. "Are you . . . okay?"
Volt started to hyperventilate, and she felt that her balance was off. She stumbled around and started to walk backward. Her walking eventually turned to speeding and then running. She turned around and ran for the hills.
Dr. Minyak was a bit lost, but he didn't care about her.
Volt kept running.
Shoutout was scared. She was crazily scared. "Volt! Where are you going?!" she cried out, soon rushing after her. "Brainstorm, Awol, take care of these two while I figure out what's wrong."
The two listened and continued to beat up Minyak and Nurse Cohort. Both of them were worried for Volt as well.
__________
"No! No!" Volt ran into her house, embarrassed. She was afraid that one of them saw her, even though she was pretty sure none of them were paying attention. She was thankful.
She rushed inside the house, and her mother was in the kitchen. She tried to make it past the kitchen without her mother noticing, but it was pointless. She made it to her bedroom but was stopped by the sound of her mother's voice calling out to her. She was not supposed to be home.
"Chapa!" Alejandra called. "Chapa, what are you doing back? I thought you were spending the night there again."
(I am calling her Volt because she is still in her uniform.)
Volt turned around, panicking like there was no tomorrow. She ran a hand into one side of her short hair and tried to collect her thoughts. She knew the truth would come out.
"Chapa, what are you still doing dressed as Volt? You know your father doesn't really know of this yet," Alejandra said.
"I - I know, but I just, um, my superpower is kind of not back, so I'm going to try to fix that." She headed into her room and closed the door behind her. She knew that she shocked her mother when she said that. She didn't care.
"What?!" Alejandra exclaimed. "Chapa, let me be in this room right now. Come on, I'm not messing around with you."
Volt looked at the door and then sighed, frustrated. She hurriedly blew a bubble to transform back into her normal attire. (Now that she is back in her normal clothes, I will call her Chapa. Just so no one is confused). She didn't want to open the door for her mother, but she had to do it.
Chapa opened the door and then allowed her mother to come inside. She could tell how upset she was with her.
"First of all, it is very rude to shut out your own mother," she said. "And second of all, how is your power not back?"
"I don't know," Chapa admitted.
"Are you able to fix it?"
"I might be able to."
"I hope so," Alejandra exhaled.
"There was probably a flaw in my testing. Yeah, I'll just have to try this one more time. I'm sure it will work." She told her mom with a confident expression. She didn't feel as if this would work, but she needed to remain calm.
"Okay. Um, I'll leave you alone then," Alejandra said. She was certain that was what her daughter would want now.
"Thanks," Chapa nodded.
Alejandra left, and Chapa closed the door behind her. She had no clue if this would work. She needed to work hard to make sure that she was able to get her superpower back.
