Chapa was startled awake when she felt something rush inside her body. She shot up and tried to use her superpower, but it would not work. When she checked the time, she noticed that it had been over five hours, and her superpower should have been back now. But it was not.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Schwoz's number. The scientist would know what to do when she told him the issue. When he picked up the phone, he seemed a bit distracted, much like when he was before.
"Hey, Chapa, what's up? No, princess! I said no, we do not have mustard. You'll have to get some more!" He called. "Sorry, Chapa, we are running out of household foods."
"I don't care; just tell me why it's been five hours and my superpower has not returned."
"It's not back yet?" he asked, extremely confused.
"No, it's not. I can't zap a fly, Schwoz. How am I supposed to get my power back now?" She paced around the room as she talked to the scientist on her phone.
He sighed, and she did not want to hear it. "Chapa, I'm afraid there is nothing that I can do. I have done all I can to try and get your powers back, but we're out of luck now."
"But I need my superpower!" she demanded.
"You can fight crimezies without your powers, Chapa," he stated. "Having superpowers doesn't make you a hero."
She scoffed. "Yes, it does, Schwoz." Her voice sounded dark and hoarse. "I need you to think of a way to get my powers to come back right now."
"There is no way," Schwoz said, almost complaining. "I have tried every method I know. I took a lot of your blood, and I don't want to have to do that again. I even dissected your gumballs and tried to use the essence of them to get your power to come back. Once your power is led out due to an injury, it's nearly impossible for it to come back."
Chapa was starting to panic more. "There has to be another way, Schwoz! I can't go back to Danger Force like this! Everyone would kill me for being so careless around Drex. Come on, you understand?" She hoped he would.
"You didn't even tell them about it?" Schwoz questioned.
"N-Not exactly. They'll kill me if I do! Please tell me there is a way that you can fix this and help me get my power back! I can't do this, Schwoz. I need all the help that I can get!" Her voice was loud over the phone. She wished for her superpower to come back, and she needed so much help.
"What, Princess?!" Schwoz yelled. "Chapa, I'm sorry, I have to go. We need to run some errands. You'll just have to go back without your powers."
"But I can't. You can't leave me like this, Schwoz!"
"I have too. Sorry, bye!"
He hung up, and Chapa was furious. All she wanted was for her powers to come back so that no one would suspect anything was wrong with her. She knew that no one noticed the incident from their last call. She ran out when she realized that her power hadn't come back. No one saw what happened or what did not happen, which made her afraid of what they would say.
She threw her phone onto her bed and then sighed heavily. She was pissed off. Not because Schwoz couldn't figure out a solution . . . well, that is true, but because she was so careless out there with Drex. Ray always said that her superpower would never leave, but all that led to some shitty foreshadowing. Now that it was gone, she didn't know what to do with herself. She hoped she could keep her lie to Mika, going a little bit longer.
Now, she would have to return to Danger Force with nothing to flame broil when she was extremely ticked off.
__________
Head back to Danger Force? That's the last thing on Chapa's list of 'to-do's', and that list is not very long either.
She knew she couldn't do this anymore. It was too much pressure for her to handle as a young adult. She couldn't save the world. As much as she wanted to, she knew that she couldn't. As she thought about it, she knew what the best option was for her to take was.
Super villains don't have superpowers.
It's absolutely perfect.
How many super villains have actual powers other than the extreme talent of being a nuisance? She was now aware of one thing. She should turn over to the dark side.
Turn over to the dark side. If she did, then she could fulfill her life's dream of hurting people, no matter who they were. If she had to touch Mika, Bose, or even Miles, she couldn't say she would care. While she loved her friends more than she would ever tell them, she would do whatever it took to live out her dream. If she complained about helping people and not hurting them, then why didn't she switch over in the first place?
That last part confused her. But she was just screaming nonsense inside her own head.
Did she want to turn over?
Would this be beneficial?
Would she ever tell her friends she lost her powers?
And would she even be able to come up with a badass supervillain name?
She wasn't certain she could come up with a name for her new persona. And she wasn't exactly sure how beneficial this would be for her. She definitely had no plans or intentions of telling her friends. Now she realized that they would figure it out on their own once they came into contact during a battle.
Chapa Dasilva was about to become a super villain. She just needed a badass persona to solidify her worth. She tried to think about it, and after what seemed like eternity, she was able to come up with something that was deep.
Dasilvolt
As she said it to herself, it was cool but slowly turned dumb. She didn't have time to keep thinking of names. It would have to do for now, and she didn't even care that much about the name now. It was just her last name combined with her hero name, and she would work on it as she went and started to take this to the next level.
