"Chapa, I'm afraid I can not fix this," Schwoz said.
Chapa looked mad and worried at the same time. Next to her, Raymond was feeling the same. Both of them wanted to have her powers back, but it didn't seem like that would have a chance of happening now. "You can fix this, right? You have to try again. I don't care how many times you have tried before. You have to try to do this again!"
He looked distressed. "Chapa, I tried five times. I ran different tests and even took a whole pound of your blood. I have no way to fix this."
"So take more!" she exclaimed, shoving the arm that he previously used in his face. She watched him deny her. "Come on, Schwoz! I need my powers back so I can finally head back to Danger Force. Everyone's worried!" she cried.
"You'll have to head back powerless," he admitted. "Unless I can find another way, but it would probably take me a while to do so."
A spark of confidence struck Chapa. "How long?!"
He looked hesitant. "Two . . ."
She didn't let him finish. "That's great!"
". . . weeks, or months."
"What?!" she yelled in his face.
"Well, you didn't let me finish!" Schwoz exclaimed back.
"Someone just fix this!" Ray shouted. "I've been sitting here for three whole hours, and nothing has been done. Is my girl going to get her powers back or not, Schwoz?!"
Schwoz looked down and then shook his head. He knew that he could not fix this, but he wanted to so badly. "I mean, I could keep running more tests," he told them.
"So run more tests!" Chapa ordered hurriedly.
"Okie dokie," he replied. He headed over to his tools and started to experiment with more chemicals and liquids. He looked deep in thought as he tried to come up with a solution for this. "Chapa." He never looked up as he said that. "Give me your gumtube," he then ordered her.
She quickly pulled it out and slammed it on the table. He picked one of the gumballs out and then examined it for a long time. Afterward, he cracked the ball open and then took a look at the inside of it. "I think there's some essence of the superpower left in the gumball."
"There is?!" Ray and Chapa both asked in surprise.
"But all of these gumballs are not enough to make your superpower come back for realzies," Schwoz continued.
"Can you try anyway?!" Chapa asked.
"I can, but it won't be easy."

After four hours, Schwoz was able to finish the antidote for her superpowers. He wanted to be confident but was a little unsure that it would work, even for a scientist.
It was late at night. Chapa and Ray had fallen asleep on Chapa's bed. It was hard for them to sit through one of Schwoz's scientist routines.
He looked at his work and then called "Done!" which evidently startled the other two awake. When they started to come to reality, he went on. "I finished with the antidote, and now we can see if your powers will be back."
"Oh, perfect!" Chapa shot up as she spoke. She took the tube from his hands and shoved the liquid down her throat.
Ray was just starting to get up when she took the antidote. He hoped it would work just as much as she did, too.
Schwoz took the tube back and put it on his work cart. "Let's see if you've got your powers back or not," he said, his tone almost exhausted.
Chapa prepared her hands, performed a few stretches, and then tried to electrocute Ray. A minuscule spark came from her hands, and as she kept trying, that spark kept dying down until it eventually faded out. "But . . ." she was absolutely devastated. "Schwoz, you said that there was some essence of my superpower in those gumballs. Why didn't it work?" She looked down at her hands in sadness.
"Because I said that it wasn't enough to make your power fully come back," he answered. "Or, it might need to kick in. You know, like with medicine."
"Oh, so how long do I have to wait for it to kick in?"
"I'm not sure. All medicines are different. I would say about three to five hours."
"But what if I can't wait that long?"
"I'm sorry, girl. I don't know what to do. I did my best." He started to pack up all of his belongings out of shame.
Ray followed him, which made Chapa very confused. Once he was done, since he didn't bring as much as Schwoz, he held out his arms. He wanted to embrace her, but it was clear that she wouldn't want the same. He pushed himself into it anyway. "We'll miss you, kid. You have always been an amazing hero. With or without your powers, you have the ability to do some great things." He patted her back.
She was still so bewildered. "You guys can't leave!"
"Chapa, we can't stay here forever and monitor you like a baby," Schwoz said.
"I would," Ray declared.
Both Chapa and Schwoz were disgusted.
"Just wait about four hours, and you could have your powers back. Give me a call if you need something, okay? I'm not sure I can pick up immediately, but I will try to," Schwoz then went on once the gross moment was over.
"Uh, yeah, me too," Ray added. "Please call me. I'm only one boat and one beautiful lady away."
"I'll call the scientist," Chapa said, a little disturbed.
Schwoz nodded with a bright smile. The two headed out afterward so that they could head back with their women.
Chapa fell onto her bed and looked up. She was so lost about what she could do. When she was about to close her eyes, she heard a noise coming from her window. She quickly sprang out of bed and tried to electrocute it, forgetting that she had no superpower. When she waited by the window, one of her friends started to climb through.
"Hey, Chapa!"
It was bad.
"And you couldn't have used the front door, why?"
"This way is much cooler," he said as he dropped down onto the floor. "Also, it's midnight."
"Right," she scoffed. "I was just about to go to bed. What do you want? Why are you at my house at midnight?"
"Because I need help," he nearly demanded.
She perked up and was now suddenly anxious. "With what? You need help with something, hah. That's not new." She laughed about it, and he was immediately puzzled.
"Yes. Chapa, ever since you left, I have been in shambles. Mika and Miles believe I'm fine, but I think deep down I am really starting to lose it."
"Cool, that's really nice of you to tell me, but I was about to go to bed, and I would really like to do that, so . . . bye now!" She started to push him back out through the window, but he was able to stop himself from falling down.
"Wait, Chapa!" he struggled to say.
"What?! What do you want?!"
"I need you to help me get back on track so that I can stay in Danger Force!" he exclaimed.
She was confused. "Why? You look perfectly fine. There, on track, is no need for my help." She tried to push him back out again. He was not able to stop her this time.
"Thanks, but that's not what I needed!"
She shoved him out and closed the window after she did. She turned around and sighed. She didn't want anyone to find out her issue, or else there would be even more issues.
She headed over to her bed and climbed into it. She needed to take her mind off the entire situation and wait for her powers to come back once the liquids kicked in.
