Billy headed down the stairs towards the mortuary itself. He could see and smell the decay of the last ten years sitting vacant. What surprised him was no vandalism at all. Back home kids would have used this place to party on the weekend. Additionally the place still had power which unsettled him a bit.

The mortuary itself was a dump.  He could see the effects that the Tennessee weather and humidity had on the ancient and rotting equipment. He really wasn't surprised but it's was only a four hour visit and he was out of here.

He found his way to the embalming room. He could smell the decay and a small hint of chemicals still in the air. He looked around and decided to just use his backpack as a pillow and lay on the embalming table. It definitely looked safer than sitting on the floor and he heard rustling which he assumed were mice or possibly even rats.

By the time he was settled it was almost 1am. He grabbed his phone and started watching a movie. He must have nodded off because by the time he woke up it was almost 245am. He had around an hour left and he needed to find a souvenir and grab a picture of himself on the embalming table. He noticed it had gotten colder....a lot colder in the room. He could almost see his breath in the air.

He started looking around for something to grab to prove he had been there. That's when he spotted an old blank toe tag. He smiled and thought to himself, " Not only creepy but an excellent add to his horror collection" That's when everything went to hell.

He grabbed the toe tag and sat up on the embalming table to take his selfie. He shot the photo but what appeared on his phone was beyond terrifying. There were two gurneys in the background...each with a covered body. The temperature in the room must have dropped 30 degrees. He was paralyzed with fear afraid to turn around.

He looked at the toe tag in his hand and saw words had began to appear on it

He looked at the toe tag in his hand and saw words had began to appear on it. He had never been so scared in his life. He wanted to run but his limbs were frozen with fear. He looked at the tag again and he wanted to scream but couldn't. "You Never Should Have Come Here" was now scribbled on the tag in what appeared to be blood.

Billy closed his eyes and kept repeating, " I'm asleep, this is only a nightmare"

"Why are you here, did my adulterous husband send you" said a garbled voice.

"You caused this, your the reason I'm dead" said a second high pitched voice.

Billy spun around and to his horror the bodies were no longer on the gurney but staring right at him. It was Hannah Van Cleef and Sarah and they were staring right through him with their black dead eyes.

Billy looked for the nearest exit...club or not he was getting the hell out of here.

Hannah looked right at him, "Your going nowhere, someone has to pay for disturbing us"

Billy could physically feel the rage in the room. He dug up every bit of courage he could muster and barreled towards the exit never looking back. He ran all the way home not stopping once. By the time he arrived home he was soaked from the rain and sweat. He sat on his bed a minute and realized he had left his backpack in the embalming room. He didn't care, he was never going back there. He realized that nobody would believe him...That is until he pulled the toe tag out of his pocket and saw the words had changed...It definitely hadn't been a dream but in reality a nightmare.

I want to thank SolesOfWonder , Hannah and Sarah for portraying our two corpses lying on the gurneys
