Lyric and Eve had been friends since childhood. They grew up riding bikes and spending their days enjoying the Louisiana sun. Overall New Orleans was a great place to grow up.
They stayed tight through high school and college and they both ended up in civil service positions in the city.
Lyric ended up working as a police officer and Eve as a firefighter. Every year they worked their vacations out so they could take their yearly trip together.

The two had met on a Friday morning for a psychic reading. They had always been curious so they decided "What the hell".
The psychic told them that they would be taking a trip soon filled with peril but they would overcome all obstacles. They laughed it off, neither actually believed in the whole psychic mumbo jumbo. What was interesting was they did indeed have a trip planned, a motorcycle ride to Savannah, Georgia in two weeks. They laughed it off as coincidence and went about their day
