Avyukta didn't show up at college the next day. I wondered what was the reason behind his absence because he had never missed his practice and it was for the first time since I joined the college.
I shook off my thoughts when I heard a manly voice from behind me. Then only I realised our break time was over and all the students started gathering into the lecture theatre for Anatomy lecture.
I turned my head towards the source of voice which was none other than my batchmate and my dance partner, Piyush Kapoor. We chatted a little bit and decided to go together for the dance practice. From the corner of my eye, I noticed Sri giving me looks and god I'm tired of her simping me with each and every guy she sees me with.
After lectures four of us that is me with my dance partner and Sri with her dance partner went to auditorium where some of our batchmates were present already.
We started practicing and nervousness crept all over me when a senior named Ayesha stood in front of us. She stopped me and told me that I was doing the steps wrong but I was damn sure that I wasn't doing it wrong. So, I told her there's nothing wrong with the steps.
"You know what, some freshy bitches like you think that they can come here and perform like they want, but no. You all should do as we your seniors say okay? If I'm saying that the step's wrong then you're not doing it properly." She said pointing her finger in my direction and everyone was staring at us like we're a lesbian couple making out on roads.
"If you really think I'm doing it wrong then show me." I said folding my hands and everyone hooted like this was a road play or something. God I hated situations like this.
Ayesha's mouth formed an inaudible haww and I started when someone from the crowd shouted face-off. I saw her face turning into an evil smile before she said
"Get ready for the face off bitch." She moved behind and created space between the crowd after challenging me.I didn't say anything to her but turned my head towards Rahul who came to stand behind me.
"Don't go ahead." He said.''Why? I'm not a coward who is afraid of challenges." I didn't wait for his response and moved ahead. She asked for music and someone played strong music suitable for hip hop. She started dancing and I was stunned she was really good at hip hop but I was sure my style would beat her.
She stopped and I gestured at Rahul to play something that goes with my dance type and he played the music and I tried my best to prove my moves weren't wrong. While dancing, from the corner of my eyes I saw Natasha cheering for me. Shocking. Some of my fellows were recording our performances too. When I stopped I heard crowd cheering among them Sreshtha was legit yelling.
I felt an Adrenaline rush with sudden activity and it felt really good my insides felt light. I turned towards Ayesha who was fuming she was about to say something when a guy came to her and dragged her in corner.
"You dance like an angel, omggg." I heard a feminine voice and turned to see Natasha standing behind me with Rahul.
"Thanks ma'am." I said.
"Natasha from now." She extended her hand for a handshake and I was shocked because I never thought even for a second that Natasha Gupta, one of the baddie would ask me to call her by her name. I shook her hand when Rahul nodded at me.
"Okay. But why this grand gesture?" I asked
"Don't you know? I'm a big big supporter of amazing dancers and gurllll my insides are shifted by your moves!" She said.
"Haha." Rest of the practice went in blur with some more compliments on my moves from batchmates and others. There's only one person missing and unknowingly my eyes were searching for him.
We were about to leave when Piyush came and sat beside me.
"Hey, you really danced like an angel. Natasha was right." He said his tone light and neutral.
"Thank you, but I don't think I danced like one."
"Yess, you did Radhika. You are such a sweet and beautiful angel." I laughed listening to him. We are practicing together from almost a week and this was for the first time he was saying something like this.
We talked a little and then Sri accompanied me to parking lot and whole time she was fantasizing me with Piyush. I told her that he was my partner only but there was not an ounce of it she believed.

The next day after classes I didn't go to Auditorium directly because I wanted to clear the images of yesterday from my head. Images of a beautiful but mean Ayesha from my head. So, I went to the spot where Avyukta took me some days ago.
I stood there for some minutes taking in the beauty of setting sun, which I absolutely love as it's the proof that endings can be beautiful and warming too. I wondered about my ending. Would it be beautiful too or it would be ugly like...I shook off my thoughts because I didn't wanted to go where those thoughts could take me.
I heard the sound of the door opening and saw Avyukta entering.
He stood there for some minutes studied me and then came to stand beside me. Smell of his scent mixed with sweat assaulted my nose. I looked at him to find his chocolate brown eyes already looking at me.
God I regretted staying there for too long and now I didn't know what would happen because this man's presence alone is enough to make my body heated and my mind blank.
