Sun and Moon| Luke Castellan Story

Chapter 8

I walked over to Moi after he was done with Chris and he told me how Kai actually beat Chris and how after Cleo came over to him and they started talking for about 10 minutes. I look over to them and see they are still talking and Cleo is blushing.

Moi looks at me what a "don't laugh" expression it is taking every once of me not to laugh or smile. Thankfully Chris tells us that is lunch time and we all head over to the lunch area. Not going to lie the food looked decent but I don't know I just got what my brothers got as I'm not that hungry. We sat down at the table and Luke and Chris were trying to guess or figure out who our godly parent could be. Chris told us that it couldn't be any of the male gods since we already have a father so it has to be one of the goddesses.

"You guys could be the children of one of the minor gods." Chris says "Yeah but you guys can't be in either Hera or Artemis." Luke says "Why's that?" Moi asks him "well that's because they're both maiden goddesses which means they don't have children with mortals or cheat on their spouse that's what their husbands do, and Artemis doesn't really care for males so that's another reason why that wouldn't work. And she also only really has hunters and not children."

"What are hunters?" I asked him "doesn't matter."

Me, Moi and Kai exchanged the same look it seemed like Luke didn't like Artemis or her hunters. "Well uh it should be time for the offerings." Chris said trying to change the subject I had a confused look on my face and they could tell.

"Offerings is when you put in the portion of your food that you're going to miss the most into the fire right there." Chris says "why" "It's an offering to the gods, your parent."

Kai and Moi stared at each other then at me not really getting all of these demigod things. "Just come on." Luke said trying to lighten things up "you just put in a portion of what you'll miss the most out of your food. And maybe your mother will see you're offering and claim you."

"Aisea ua tatou faia ai lenei mea." Kai asked noa le fai lava." Moi told him

Luke and Chris looked confused. We saw them both stand up and walk to towards the fire and signal for us to come. We walked over to where they were

"just put in some of what you'll miss the most." Luke told us.

After we put it a portion of our food in there Luke and Chris showed us around everywhere else like the obstacle course where I saw some people fall which was kinda funny.

Then they showed us the basketball court, and a volleyball area which had satyrs including Cleo playing volleyball and some other Demi-gods playing. Then we went over to the strawberry fields where Aphrodite and Demeter kids were.

Luke then started telling us about each god and why there are 12 in a U shape area.

"None of the other gods really care for the minor gods so that's they don't have cabins. Luke says

"Why does none really care for the minor gods?" I ask him

"I don't really know but the rest of the gods just pretend like they don't exist. Or they're just not important to them."

I didn't know what to say to that so I just stayed quiet. I figured that also might be why there are so many kinds in Hermes cabin that haven't been claimed at all. He also told us that each camp et receives a beaded clay necklace at the end of every year. Luke said that you receive a bead for the most important event that happens to you at the end of the year and for some it's also a recondition for surviving.

After Luke and Chris were done showing us around they lead us back to the cabin as it was getting late. It wasn't that late though so some campers were still awake and some others were either sleeping or getting ready for sleep.
