Sun and Moon| Luke Castellan Story

Chapter 12

Everyone started to head back to their cabins and to shower as everyone was tired and sweaty. As I went into the showers I noticed how some of my scars had been bruised again or scratched especially these specific two ones.  One from military school and one from when I was twelve and me and my brothers went out and I slipped while we were jumping off this waterfall thing and it scratched me down from the side of my chest to my rip cage it hurt enough for me to get stitches and after that incident my dad never let us go near that waterfall again.

As I finished showering I walked out of the bathroom and saw Luke, coming out of the boys showers and he did not have a shirt on. I froze and immediately went back into the bathroom and slammed the door which made him look my way. 

"Koa? Is that you?" He asked through the door. I just stayed quiet not making a sound as I didn't want him to see me and I didn't want to go out there. After a couple minutes I left the bathroom and I went to the cabin, everyone was laughing and playing games which is new since usually everyone would just go to bed.

I walked over to my brothers and saw they were playing games with Chris, I went to sit by them and I noticed Luke was missing and I am kinda glad because after what happened earlier I don't really want to see him right now. 

"What are you guys doing?" I asked.

"Chris just wanted to get to know us better as we played cards." Kai said and it looked like they were playing speed which is a two person game. I noticed Percy isn't here, but he's probably in his own cabin since he's been claimed already. I'll admit I'm kinda jealous that all ready claimed but I guess I can't really complain since there are kids who have been here way longer and haven't been claimed either.

"Where's Percy?" I asked. Although I'm sort of jealous of him being claimed that doesn't mean I hate the kid, I still want him to be here while we play games not by himself in his own cabin.

"Luke went to get him to see if he wants to join us." Chris replied.

I nodded and sat down next to Kai as I watched Moi and Chris play speed. It seemed like Moi was winning as when it comes to playing cards he always wins and never goes easy even if you're just learning, I've only beaten him a couple times but when he's not playing I usually win.

"SPEED!" Moi yelled as he won. As he won I saw Chris hand him five gold coins.

"Did you guys bet?" I asked.

"Yeah if I lost I had to give Chris twenty bucks and he if he lost he had to give me I think these are called golden drachmas." Moi told me. As he held the golden coins which I had no idea is for.

"What's it for though, the drachmas?" I asked as I looked at Chris.

"They're basically god money you can use for offerings, and if you go on a quest you can use it to pay for some stuff." Chris said. 

I nodded after a few minutes of playing card games Luke came through the door with Percy by him. I smiled at Percy as I saw him walk in with Luke, he just gave me an awkward wave and small smile back. Luke sat next to Chris as we continued playing card and Percy just stood there, not going to lie he was a pretty awkward kid but in his defense he is twelve years old and I am seventeen so I can really talk. 

Kai signed for Percy to come sit next to him which he did and me and Moi played cards while Chris, Luke, Percy, and Kai watched. The game started getting faster, which is also why it's called speed. The faster the game got the more intense it got, then I ran out of cards which meant I won. 

"Speed!" I said and Moi threw his cards on the floor as he lost. 

"I hate you." He said bluntly as he isn't a good sport when he loses card games or just any board game. I chuckled as he said he hated which I know isn't true and he's just being a poor sport.

"I love you too." I said as I chuckled and smiled. He rolled his eyes and gave me a stank look which made Kai laugh.

"C'mon Moi you always win, don't be a sore loser now. Kai said as he laughs more at Moi.

Moi just rolled his eyes and said he's done. Kai laughed for a couple more seconds till Moi threw a pillow at him to get him to stop laughing. 

"Hey!" Kai complained as he rubbed the back of his head.

"Shut it!" Moi yelled back. I smiled then went back to the game as I taught Luke and Percy how to play and Percy seemed like he was having fun and he beat Luke when they played.
