Two days later, Woo decided to take Katana to work for a day, which left Zaire all alone at home. The female dog had kept Zaire's mind clear and anxiety low. The omega went through his cleaning chores and sat down in the living room. Suddenly, the house seemed too big and scary for him. The omega kept looking at the entrance where two large doors taunted him.

'Open them, Zaire. They're waiting outside for you.'

Heart racing wildly, Zaire ran upstairs and locked the door to his bedroom. The window of the room formed a face and laughed at him. It was all in his head but messing with his reality. Tears welled in Zaire's soft eyes as he threw himself on the bed. His shaky hands pulled on the blanket and he hid under it, chest shaking from panic.

'Open the window, Zaire. Look, your mother is right there. Your father is waiting for you. Won't you greet them?'

'Are you going to disappoint them again?'

'Do you think that alpha can protect you from them? He will never save you.'

His evil mind taunted him and Zaire muttered Woo's name like a mantra, wishing the alpha was here. Just then, the omega peeked outside the blanket and reached for his phone that was on the nightstand. He couldn't make Woo mad by bothering him at work but being alone was chewing him up. The omega decided to call the person he trusted the most. His call was picked up on the second ring.

'Hello?'

'L-Liam?'

'Zaire, is everything okay?'

'I-I-'

'Take a deep breath. What's going on? Are you safe?'

'I'm all alone here. W-Woo took Katana to work and it's scary. I-I feel like my parents might show up any second.'

'Do not stress, dear. Would you like me to come over?'

'Please.'

'I'm on my way, please wait a little.'

The vampire cut the call and the omega hid himself in the blanket. He curled up and hugged his knees tight. Zaire waited for Liam patiently. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears, thumping loudly. Zaire wasn't sure how much time had passed, maybe twenty minutes or half an hour. He stayed still until he heard Liam's voice call out his name. The omega stood up quickly and opened the bedroom door.

The blond man embraced the shaking man and Zaire broke apart. Liam rubbed his back as the omega sobbed. "I'm here, honey. You're not alone, look."

"I-I feel like my parents will find m-me." The smaller man confessed. "I...I don't want to go back."

"Shh...even if they find you, Woo won't let them lay a single hand on you, dear." Liam comforted. "You have to trust him, Zaire. Woo is scary but he won't let anyone hurt you."

"B-But-"

"When he saved you and we bought you back to his place, he wouldn't let the doctor touch you. We had to beg him to let Joshua check you. When he heard you scream, he ran inside instantly, not even Jonathan could stop him." The vampire pulled away and wiped the smaller man's tears. "Woo isn't fond of omegas. He barely even glances at them but maybe it's your scent, it's causing him to be overprotective of you."

"I-I probably made him mad by calling you over. I'm so sorry for bugging you." The omega said and Liam sighed.

"He won't get mad, Zaire. We are always at each other's houses. The gang always has sleepovers at my house." The vampire informed. "Please don't think you're bothering me. Today, I have a day off from work. Would you like me to spend it here with you?"
